Bolton said the other day "we're a team in a hurry" and I noticed Armfield used the same expression today.

Given we've said we are in for a long haul rebuild, I find it hard to correlate with the in a hurry statement.

So I'm missing something. What is Bolton meaning when he says we're a team in a hurry?

I like the saying, plenty of time to win, but no time to lose.

I like this new energised Carlton, with a sense of urgency. Best influx of talent since 1986, I'm more excited than I have been for a long time.

Certainly the energy and enthusiasm is palpable. Plenty of talented youth has come through the door and a young energized , very professional coaching team.
Bolton will inspire the boys young and old alike will work harder , be happier and to do better , he is a very good appointment , on and upwards

Agree with you Robert. I don't think it was our usual "quick fix". Bolton is from a different culture, and for mine, he was just alluding to cracking on with the very big job. I'm very impressed so far that he is showing progress by doing rather than saying. Lots of very small but important changes to how the club approaches things. He deserves our full support.

I've taken it to mean there's a lot of things that need fixing and it won't happen quickly but we're getting there as fast as we can.

Yeah. And also we arent really in a hurry so much as we have to say we are so you all jump on board, and..
Its a really really good slogan so Im gonna use it a LOT!:P

CARLTON’S sweeping changes have extended to hiring an expert to teach players how to properly ride a bike.

Legendary Australian track cycling team coach Charlie Walsh has spent the past week at the Blues headquarters working with the players.

With so much cross-training in the modern game, Carlton’s new director of coaching Neil Craig summoned his former mentor from Adelaide to help out.

“Neil has a good relationship with Charlie, so we probably couldn’t get a better man to come in and set the bikes up and make sure the guys do everything right. Just the small things,’’ Blues football operations manager Andrew McKay said.

“He was here for the week setting up the bikes and things like that. And the mind games, how hard you can push yourself. We wants them to do everything properly, including bike riding or boxing or whatever they do.’’

The often controversial Walsh forged a reputation for challenging individuals to win Olympic and world championships medals in his 20 years as track cycling head coach before he retired following the 2000 Sydney Games.

Under Malthouse the players were expected to be at the club for at least 21 hours a week

Under Barker the players were expected to be at the club for at least 28 hours a week

Under Bolton the players are expected to be at the club for at least 35 hours a week - the same as Hawthorn

ok, but for those in the industry or with knowledge, how was malthouse running it at 21? How does that compare with others, outside of Hawthorn?

In the 21, 28 or 35, is it exercising, training, learning, skills, ????

Surely that can't be right?

21 hours to 35 is a huge discrepancy.
