Really interesting to note the panel's coaching choices.
Lolz Huddo's was Roos/J Rawlings.
If we got Jade instead of Teague it'd be microwave time for me.
Sellers was
Ratts or Teague
Kingy said Longmire :sly:
No-one said Clarko.

This is good. The less the media know the better, if the rumour is true.

Hopefully Kingy is more on the mark than Sellers. Ratts to Carlton is a disaster. And I like Brett Ratten too much to ever wish that upon him.

He said Ratts or Teague.
Kingy was on a weird tangent which was why don't Carlton declare they've made a play for Longmire when Norf have had to.
Both Huddo and King think we have an amazing list and any coach would prefer to come to us so.

Ps. If all this is in the video posted I apologise.

Oh and robbo said Voss, but said he'd changed his mind on that since listening to Kingy.

That's just a photo of the big screen at the cameldome. No video.

Sellers gave Judd a huge swipe, very strong opinions against the comments Judd made re Teague/training wheels on Monday night.

I love the media. Our list seems to have improved 100% despite not drafting, recruiting or de-listing any players  .

To be fair, Kingy and Sellers were at least two who were saying we weren't getting the best out of our plaYers with Bolts. They were questioning moves, or non moves for some time before Bolts was sacked.

Yeah. He went really hard. He was not happy with Judd. Made it clear he thinks he sucks as Director of footy.

I’d be shocked if we end up with Ratts.

I find it highly unlikely that he’d want to come back considering the way it ended and that the board would be willing to effectively concede they botched his sacking considering a few members of the board remain from that time.

I really do hope Ratts gets a chance somewhere though

Not even convinced he's the best man for the job. Need to put nostalgia aside.

I wouldn’t rule out Longmire either.
Classic ‘Buddy’ move - he kind of hints he’s leaving and everyone just assumes this means North.
All along, he/we were going in a different direction.

I’d prefer Longmire to B Scott, Lyon or Hinkley.
I’m still leaning towards Voss or Teague.
I’m torn on Clarkson - would be the best coach but not sure he’d be the same coach at Carlton after all the success he’s already had at the Hawks. Plus I’m concerned about how much we’d have to pay and what that would do to the rest of the footy department. Similar concern but slightly lesser extent for Longmire and Lyon.

The biggest plus for Clarkson would be the pull factor for free agents etc.

In my lifetime only Parkin, Malthouse, Matthews and Barrassi have won a flag with a second club.

Hang on, half of those coaches did it with Carlton. GET CLARKSON!

I met Voss in a pub up here in Brizvegas when the Lions were in their prime, I told him he was a legend etc and he said Go Lions... I said Go Blues and then he whispered in my ear that he was a Carlton supporter his whole life and still watches them fondly. Top bloke and he and Roos will be great.
Don't worry about Teaguey (and he has impressed me very much in post game interviews as well as actually changing things around on game day which Bolton soorly lacked any vision)
But look at the opportunity and exposure David has got caretaking, invaluable experience that he will use for his future. Don't think he should get the full time job just because he's there now.
People...we can not afford to gamble again and must go with experience at AFL level because I keep paying membership every year for the last 15 but until recently I had lost interest in even watching games as I'm sick of being down the friggin ladder even with all the high draft picks we've had. My 9 year old daught keeps telling me I've got to follow someone else because we just lose all the time!!!!
ENOUGH CRAP
GET US UP WHERE WE BLOODY SHOULD BE!!!!!!

Well that's my six monthly rant out of the way ...

If we were to appoint Michael Voss as coach, we should keep Robert Walls around as Senior Consilgere as Walls was Voss’s first coach and would hold him in high regard, especially given that Voss was a blues supporter all his life.

Yeah, but any appointment is going to be a gamble, whether we like it or not.

It's like recruiting, we only really know what we should have done after the fact. Sometimes what we should have done is what we did (ie. Patrick Cripps) and some times it's not (ie. Matthew Watson).

I mean, you could easily argue that Voss/Roos = recycled dud coach/has been past his prime, just as much as you could argue Teague = training wheels.

Every premiership coach since 2011 was promoted from an assistant gig.

Or, every premiership coach since 2003 was promoted from an assistant gig, with the exception of Malthouse in 2010.

You can form a credible stance whichever direction you want to promote and you can probably back it up with stats too.

I have NFI what the right approach is and I've never been less sure about which direction we should go.

Oh yeah, and what's the record of the senior mentor/coach model? I know we've only got a small sample size, but by my reckoning it's…

Parkin/Brittain = spoon
Thompson/Hird = drugs
Roos/Goodwin = failure (I know it's too early to tell just yet, but it's trending downwards, fast!)
