Maybe plenty of relevance in terms of comparisons between the coaches - but the comparisons of the playing lists are poles apart.

Yeah your right the playing list is poles apart, particularly by way of depth of lessor lights and in quality coming through.. However, the blues have been undeniably competitive in 3 games thus far (despite that dearth of quality in depth) with plenty of scope for improvement. To early to call but the optimist in me prefers to draw a relationship between some of the results starting to come through (last nights result between Cats and Swans and the tiggers -yet to be injury tested + fact that as suspected the tiggies are gonna get a reality check today) and a conclusion that we haven't been as drastically underperforming on field thus far as is being suggested.

Geeez im happy not to hear a supporter after the game talk statitical gibberish.

Did they really say MM is 2 games off being the second most winning coach in VFL/AFL history??... are some of our people using the Ratts record to prove we havent upsized when it comes to coaches????

Chalk and cheese...

even if he isnt the greatest going around... he still knows what he is doing ESPECIALLY compared to Ratten....

As the year goes on ... that will sink in.

Malthouse declining to be in the circle for the song was surprisingly impressive.

He knows who he is, what he's about and what he requires. Everything flows from that. That's the key to successful head coaches.

Ratten is handy assistant coach material. The fact that he thought he was ready and capable indicates he was clueless and / or may have put himself ahead of the club in pushing for the job in the first place.

Just on the stats - Hasnt he been quoting stats in pressers. I always laugh because i know how much people dont like it.
He was going on about metres gained v oppositions metres gained last week. The week before that he was shuffling through his papers looking for a stat then admitted he couldnt find them.

Not sure stats or no stats means anything really.

Look you cannot even compare ratten to a man who will potentially be the second most successful coach in afl winning history in two weeks

Think ratts won couple spoons and a final in his one and only coaching stint

Everything mick says has purpose I hang off every word, when ratten was speaking he always lacked a plan and didn't make you feel he had any idea what he was doing

Read what i said not what you think i said. Malthouse quotes stats. Watch all his carlton pressers and you will see and hear him do it.

Not sure stats or no stats means anything really though. Pressers themselves are just jibberish.

I seriously believe we can beat WCE at Subiaco. The space will suit us and they aren't playing great footy.

We then have Crows at the G. Very winnable.
Melbourne at the G
St Kilda at ES
Port at ES
BL at Gabba
GWS at ES
Essendon* at G

We could easily be 7-5 at halfway, have some momentum and be a much better balanced side and playing more to the MM gameplan.

The second half of the year is a better draw and we could easily have Waite, Kruezer, Ellard, Graham, Menzel, Bootsma, McCarthy in our best 22.

A 14-8 or 15-7 record is very possible. I believe we are heading in the right direction!

You're a glass half full kind of guy.
I can just tell!
So am I as a rule but I can't bring myself to produce a post like that.
Good on ya.

What do you reckon BS??

Stay positive we are on the right track!
