I think you would probably find most players on Carlton's list would prefer not to be there, I don't blame them either.

Maybe if I convince myself it's the humane thing to do that will help. We're setting him free in his best interests.

Does this relate to a No Trade Clause in Gibbs' most recent contract? That story is unsubstantiated as far as I know.

That contradicts today's article. It says the club is desperate to retain the key position player.

..stupid to trade Hendo, we lack leadership, we lack players in that age bracket and games experience.. ..we lack quality key position players.. ..and you won't get enough in a trade for it to be a positive list building move.. ....it's another quick fix avenue in my opinion.. ..rebuild in 3 years is rubbish, but we will try and force it and go backwards.. ..we won't face our mistakes and take the five or six years we actually need..

....and by all accounts it's a weak draft to force the issue in..

It would be important to establish what makes it a weak draft first. Drop away in talent after the top 15-30, thin on speedy mids, etc; what makes it weak?

..why not..?.. ..do they ask themselves why a highly rated player doesn't reach their potential with us..?..

....hendo may not be a big goal scorer, but in my opinion he plays a different role than Tex, and is potentially AA quality.. ..that's forward as well as defence.. ..with us however?, he's no Tex.. ......and Betts was not good enough either.. ..ditto Jacobs.. ..I wonder wow many players we push out, that go on to become AA, will it take for us to realise we can't develop, nor identify talent..

Not a building block..
He's more a complimentary type... He compliments teams.. He doesn't make them.
That's a deal breaker at Carlton. We don't like very good players we love champions!

That's what I'm hearing

Daisy, Tutt, Everitt and Jones ............all coaches picks.

Haven't added a truck load of leadership.

Daisy on $600k-$700k is looking more like a massive piss take by Mick. Then use him as the "face"of the club on every second promotion.

Yeah daisy has been a flop.
But we have so many performers here at Carlton he's Robinson Crusoe

Tutt Dick Jones .. All crap correct..
Because we had plenty of currency to trade and money in the salary cap

SOS said it internally; someone else has leaked it (i.e. the board).

The club would have an each way bet.. He's for trade along with everybody else...
Depends what we're offered

Simpson walker carrazzo they're now on a rebuild and finishing their careers.
They're not going to see blue skies.
Blokes like Murphy and Gibbs along with Henderson won't.
Why would they want to stay and emulate the careers of guys like Simpson Scotland walker at Carlton!?
The answer is they wouldn't.
Sixty six games of darkness with no light set the end of sixty six games is a sportsman's death sentence

Comes down to the coach now.

These are his boys.

No money - Thank Daisy.
No Trades - well we missed out on a compo pick for Daisy.

Garlett, 40+ goal forward that we gave away for nothing.
Robbo, in the best for Brisbane, we gave away for nothing.

The club is shit, but Malthouse is worse.

..you need a core group of players to rebuild around.. ..the core group needs to be key position types and engine room mids.. ..at the right age bracket and games experience.. ..instead, these are the types we will try and offload for picks.. ..we have no idea..
