Is he eligible?

Affiliated with Carlton. Ineligible.

Hendo is 25 and a natural defender, let him settle there for remainder of the season. If we were to lose him, hopefully don't but his currency will sky rocket. Much rather lose Jamo, Rowe, jones, Watson, etc.

Henderson will enjoy his footy again if he goes back, fwd role is killing him, pushing him away

If we let a player like Hendo go then that confirms to me that the club has no idea how to become successful again!

Is he really that good? I agree that he is a defender but he hasn't proven to be an A grade player at either end.

He is over rated and if other clubs are willing to give up more than what he is worth (first round pick), take it. Use it in the draft or perhaps look to use it as the foundation on Aish or Hoksin Elliot.

That's what posters were saying about Betts. :banghead:

Well they are wrong about Betts. Eddie had many more runs on the board then Henderson and he was under rated at Carlton because we like to unfairly criticize some players.

henderson came back after his offseason heavy and out of shape. we're almost through all of may and he still looks slow.

that's not the kind of indicator we want just before we re-sign a guy.

depends on what another team will pay for him. he's definitely not irreplaceable (especially if we pick up weitering at number 1) but at the same time, you don't trade him just for the sake of trading him.

if someone does want to pay a late first round pick for him, then SOS will have a hand in offering him a contract according to our new pay structure, and i'd be giving him a take it or leave it kind of deal.

if there's not a draft pick out there we feel worth it, he needs to sign up accordingly to his output. if his output stays at what it's been, he's not going to make much money.

Shouldn't pay overs for Hendo if he wants out. Better to part ways now.

He doesn't want out. Club is letting him go to club of his choice but would prefer he chose Geelong.

Why would they prefer he chooses Geelong?

It sounds from your posts on this subject that there is an in principle deal in place between us and Geelong (or am I reading too much into it??). That seems highly irregular for this early in the season, or is it naive to think this doesn't happen between clubs all the time?

No idea why it's Geelong.

I'd assume (bc I know SOS wants early picks & he's not allowed to trade Murph or Gibbs) it's bc Geelong will most likely have a mid first rounder.

It's Lachie bc he's out of contract. If he was contracted we probably wouldn't be trading him.

He's from down that way isn't he?

I'm going to assume if the club wants it to be Geelong so bad that Geelong must have given some sort of indication that their first round pick would be available. Doesn't make any sense to be so keen on Geelong if they haven't actually indicated any interest or spoken about what the possible return would be.

I'd be far more comfortable if we traded Lach because he was the one who wanted to leave.

The bigger question is why are two players not considered for trade?

you can thank Macca for one of them. It'll be his parting gift.
