Very very concerned by those changes. Changes whole structure of team coming into a final. Not good.

Hope I'm wrong!

Watched the centre bounce set ups with interest last week

We ran Judd- Murph- Scotland - Walker - Robbo - Lucas -Simpson- Joseph - Gibbs - Russell in there but the bloke that was in there the most was Armfield - he set up on the defensive side of the ruck
He did not win one clearance in there and was pretty much a passenger - at times he looked like a rabbit in the head lights and stood off the contest

I wonder have they decided to bring back Ellard to fill that role or will Armfield be in there again

I was surprised at the number of centre bounces that Judd and Murph were not in together -

i havent looked at previous matches and are not an expert on centre bounce set ups but I sense there was a fair bit of experimentation going on - At one stage St Klida won the clearance went out to the right and kicked it straight to Judd who was deep in the back line who dished off to Walker

Liking the experience coming into the squad, but would have preferred Russell or Lucas coming in before Marcus Davies ... Davies hasn't convinced me yet

I dont mind the changes - I would have like to see Kruezer or Hammer in instead of Thornton

But Carrazzo and Ellard add to our Tackling pressure we had 42 tackles last week and Lucas isnt renowned for tackles neither is Russell and Zach averages less than 1 tackle per game

Finals are won at the stoppages you need your hard nuts in there - We played very soft footy last week

Davies is a mystery but he must be doing a role that they are happy with - I just can't see it

Great video, this is the sort of stuff that makes social media worthwhile.

I remember feeling invincible in '95. I was 7 years old and didn't go to a lot of games at Princes Park because of the nature of the ground and standing room etc. I wasn't scarred by '93 and '94 and because of my naivety didn't doubt for a minute we'd win it.

I remember the week before the prelim feeling confident and assured, like nothing could and would go wrong, and that same feeling again on the big day. Dad wen't off to the game and I stayed at home to watch it on TV and it was the most relaxed I can recall being watching a game of footy. I sat on the couch, my number 2 guernsey on, just waiting for the cup, just knowing we'd win it. And as goal after goal reigned down enjoyed it more than any game of footy. Seeing Sticks talk about it and seeing all the footage reminded me of 4 weeks 16 long years ago when I didn't doubt for a second we'd get the job done. Defeat wasn't a consideration.

I feel the same way this week.

If the choice is Bower or Davies I'd go Davies on 2011 form. Bower just has been so far off the pace this year it isn't funny

Good call. Davies showed some good signs up forward.

Sakc Russell Mk II.

Davies bolting forward and lowering his eyes to hit Setanta with a lace out pass must have been missed.

Doesn't carry the ball. :donk:

You only had to watch Davies link up in a VFL game and run hard to weight another lace out pass over Thornton's man to know that he can play. He could have gone for the open goal, but went for the selfless pass to a teammate in a better position.

Lucas didn't miss last week.

So you've named 1 of O'hAilpin's marks inside 50 last week. Guess which two players were responsible for the delivery of 4 others?

http://www.gameanalyser.afl.com.au/?rou ... ality=high

And we dropped them. Watch as Davies has a huge opening to run into 50, has a clear line of sight with no zone as he puts straight out in front of himself with enough touch for Setanta to prop and mark. That was all about Setanta knowing how to outsmart his opponent, and those who have seen some footage of him at VFL level know he is judging the flight about as well as he's seen it in a long time. He's our in form tall forward right now, even if Waite came back into the team tomorrow (and it's a godsend).

Lucas, unlike Davies, knows where to run to receive, and can deliver it in congestion. Tuohy, unlike Davies, has the skill and the confidence to break a game open with his kicking, and beat the zone. Both can do a good job locking down on players and can be patient with the counter-attack. Davies is much, much more defensive in my book, and when we have blokes like Joseph, Jamison & Duigan sitting in defence, I think it's a bridge too far.

Ellard or Davies will be the sub, but they make for very bland additions to the squad.

What is happening with Rusty????

There is more to this story than is lead to believe I reckon. I would have put my house on it that he would be in the side this week. Strange indeed.

Anyway Ratts and the Match committee have made the decisions now so good luck to the side and here's hoping everything turns out the way we all want it to on Sunday.

GO THE BAGGERS!!!! That pumped it's not funny.

Disappointing final selections IMO but I'll still be barracking like hell for the boys to get over the line.
Davies was the first one out of my team. I'd rather Bower (creative line breaker) Tuohy (good pace and quality user) or Lucas (strong runner).

Bower had 4 kicked on him by Dennis-Lane last yr in Swans final, maybe this didn't help his cause with the MC?

The over the top criticism of selections got funnier at the season progressed, its downright hilarious this week.

For all you critics, yes you're entitled to an opinion, but have a look at what you've written and ask yourself if its worth making a clown of yourself over.
