McMahon has been kicking 3 to 4 goals a week in reserves why wouldn't you take him mid season.

I really hope we take him. Be gutted if Essendon** beat us to the punch

Boom

I just don't get it... How can a Carlton VFL player Get drafted by another team?

Are we that lame that we don't rate our own players? or did the selectors already decide McMahon is no good?

I guess you will have to watch his career at the Bombers for the ultimate answer.

Why would we select a 197cm forward? We're already coughing up too many scores from our front half. Just because he's in our VFL team isn't the main criteria for a mid season draft selection.
We've selected a need and rightly so.

I think our best 23 is good enough to win a flag.
We can’t avoid injury therefore can’t field our best 22

TDK walks and we get a 1st rounder and a million dollars to add to the other million Austin
N has been banking.

With a couple mil and 2025 & 2026 1st & 2nd rounders we should improve with 4 new ready made players imo
2 quick HB or HB and mid with speed and good skills and a H
Forward with speed and kicking skill.

Hopefully With Flynn Young we have our dangerous HF.

Add Jagga Lord Campos to the fold, and we look a modern team, with depth

Some of our curren5 best 23 should be depth to make us good.

Dodo can I suggest you not believe everything you read on BF and hear on SEN. Some of your recent posts are a touch ‘Dramatic’.

Collingwood thought him not good enough - and they aren’t overloaded with quality 195+ talks up front - we gave him plenty of opportunity to prove himself - if we thought he was good enough over the summer we would have taken him in the PSD or as a SSP.

Don’t think he’s going to take Drug Cheats to the promised land.

I’d still like to nominate him for the Moran Medal next round

Under 22 Listed Players Age in 2025

B: 22 Duffy 19 O'Farrell 20 Wilson
HB: 20 Carroll ________ 20 Cowan
C: 20 Hollands 19 Smith 19 L.Campo
Fol: 20 O'Keefe 20 Lord 19 B. Campo
HF: 21 White _________ 21 Motlop
F: 22 Durdin 20 Lemmey 20 Moir

IC: 19 Charleson 20 Binns 211 Monohan

23 O.Hollands 23 Young

24 Kemp 24 Walsh 24 Evans

We have a depth issue because we have too many kids, let alone too many small forwards

We also have 18 Dean, 18 Ison and 18 Gresham as potential draftees come season's end.

Surely we don't need more kids, and are the 3 young draft targets better than what we already have?

THE BURNING QUESTION

Should we be discarding kids and keeping veterans to improve our depth?

Veterans out of contract: 30 Fantasia, 32 Docherty, 31 McGovern, 33 Haynes, 32 Newman

Experienced out of contract: 28 Silvagni, 28 Cincotta, 29 Hewett, 24 Evans

Kids out of contract: Lemmey, Wilson, Lord Monohan, White, Motlop, F.Young and Kemp

We have to replace/ improve on what we already have with:

Running HB .................Bergman for TDK compo pick
Replacement Ruck.........2nd & 3rd round picks traded O'Reilly??
Small Forward ..............2026 1st round traded. No idea who, but there's got to be better than what we have.
Quick Mid/ HB...............FA?

Somehow we need to be creative and get 4-5 ready made players into our best 23, better than we have got, to improve the list in 2026, and with that our fortunes.

WE don't have to let go of any stars other than TDK.
Discarding veterans and replacing them with experienced players doesn't improve our depth.

It may be cheap to retain some veterans as depth and discard some contracted kids to improve our depth?

Perhaps its easier to make list of untouchable kids who will step up in 2026, such as O.Hollands Smith, Lord, Campo, Campo, Cowan, Carroll, O'Farrell, O'Keefe, and need to see if Wilson continues with his recent improvement. We have Walker joining us end of 2026 too.

I can't see the need for Evans, Motlop, Fantasia, Monohan, Binns, White, Moir and F. Young hasn't had a chance to stake his claim. I'd like to say we don't need Lewis Young, but until we have a replacement for Young as depth, he's required to fulfill his contract obligation in 2026.

Interesting times.
