As long as they get us to the MCG & hopefully PP (for interstate games) - we shouldn't give a flower.
Anyway doing a much better job than the previous 2 presidents and teams.

PP will never happen, SB. Once the AFL comes to an agreement or buy out with Etihad, the smaller games will be played there.
The only boutique solution would be if cricket as the main tenant & the AFL were to share a ground i.e. Junction Oval for the interstate games, subject to some major govt. finding.

I'm not giving up hoping. I envy Geelong now and what they are setting themselves up for.
We were that team once!

Cool, so we expect Geelong to be hammered to near extinction by salary cap penalties in about 5-10 years.

That's a one team town Surrey. Like Adelaide. Any games played at Princes Park in the future will be the likes of North Melbourne Vs GWS.

Membership almost double what is was in 2006 - 28576 - when you look at those raw numbers to get over 50k is actually quite a significant achievement

That is a good thing for Vic footy though Doc. We need to encourage all other teams playing low drawing interstate clubs at PP. That is the way it should be. We then get to play interstate clubs @ MCG during finals only. Hense we finally get some advantage back!!! Victorian clubs need an advantage against interstate teams plus some $$$$ for these games. I'm not talking just about Carlton here but Richmond and Collingwood, etc..

Carlton, Collingwood, Richmond, Hawthorn, Essendon* etc....they won't ever be playing at a 25,000 boutique stadium. It'll be North v GWS, Melbourne v Gold Coast, Western Bulldogs v Fremantle etc....
