..i wouldn't play Bower, he's missed too much senior footy this year and i reckon a touch off the pace.. ..especially with an already suspect Jamo coming in, and also Carrots.. ..then there's possibly Thornton too.. ..a lot of 'new' faces in one week for an elim final, i think Bower would be one too many.. ..i don't like the idea of changing up the senior squad too much.. ..having an extra tall [bower] in defence won't help matters if their isn't a strong working midfield with an overall team defense fanaticism..

You would only play Bower if Jamo doesnt come up. Spine of :-

Bower/jamo
Henda
Warnock
Thornton
Carlos

Thornton can also go to full back if they want to play jamo up front.

There is also the issue of both T BIrd and Jamo not coming up.

Oh, and Bower has to play. We're absolute bare bones for talls in that team. Jamison and Henderson back, Thornton and O'hAilpin forward, with the Irish as second ruck. That's one short as it is. If one gets beaten, or injured, we're screwed.

I agree - Jamo or not, I want Bower in the team, he is a tall who provides run and carry and has been in really good touch in the Ants. It could be a Walker like situation, comes in for a final, plays well and survives trade week as a Blue and has a ripping year the next year. The only difference being we win the final (and more) and Bower makes the AA team.

The team named has the same balance of talls and smalls as we have played all year. The only difference is Carlos doesnt play as tall as Big K. I am not sure bringing in an extra tall helps that.

An argument to bring in an extra tall because it is a final and generally that means teams cant move the ball as freely as they do in the regular season due to a lift in intensity. An extra tall target could be handy in this regards.

The weather will play a big part in selections.

Nah, Jamo forward for me.
If he can do a job on Pears (Which I believe he could) it will mean Fletcher will have to play on him which frees up our other forwards.

L after D except before T.

and we get an alphabet lesson - "keep it simple for us down here in tassie" - Donnie from Devonport, Coodabeen Champios

I wonder if Warnock will have stints out of the ruck at full forward....he had a purple patch in the Sydney final

Why do so many still have this idea that Carlton don't like the wet? We've played in several wet games this year and won them all (admittedly one was only against Port).
With such a short team we will be praying for rain!

He did.
Problem is we've been all year to see him do it again.
And we're still waiting.

Won't matter. If the first 2 or 3 go through the big sticks Essendon* are stuffed. It's only a bad case of the yips that I reckon could derail us.

I agree that we are a good wet weather team.
We did the job at the SCG in terrible rain, against Port, and another match that i forget.

Definitely we have a few players that like the slop.

Thanks for that... I watched the game plan last night and thought I missed that midfield comparison they usually do.

It seems as though they skipped that part of the segment for our game.

Maybe to save Monga's blushes having to reveal a 9-1 dominance our way?

Aren't Collingwood the best performance-enhancing team?

Oh wait, now I understand what you were trying to say.
