By doing what he's done today and how they have perfumeries proves them club needs an independently conducted review from top to bottom

Mick has turned out to be a worse bloke than I picked him for when he first arrived.

Disaster.

REPORTER: Do you think Carlton football club should sack Mick Malthouse?

PM TONY ABBOTT: Look, I'm not - I don't profess to be an expert on the ins and outs of Aussie rules coaching. I coached rugby union in a relatively junior capacity many, many years ago. And even there, I would be very reluctant to offer an opinion on a coach. All I know is that Mick Malthouse has an extraordinary record. He's the Wayne Bennett, I guess, of Aussie Rules coaching - absolutely extraordinary record. Now, occasionally even the best of us in whatever field have downs as well as ups and my instinct is that Mick Malthouse should be given a chance to bring his team back to the success that I'm sure he's capable of coaching it to. Thank you.

The media cycle already has the board on the agenda. That will not relent through the season, and it will intensify as the AGM nears, particularly if someone like Tom is pulling the strings.

What I hope however, is that TE isn't the only one forming a ticket.

Hard to believe really.

My only consolation is that he cost the Pies a flag or two with all his shenanigans.

Unfortunately (for us) their organization is strong enough to cope.

That's gold for us! Even though it means jack.. But the media are going to feast on this board..
Remarkable events considering how irrelevant we have been Mick's made us relevant again.

Lucky I didn't let Synbad and the board talk me into agreeing that he would be great for our club and players.

It was easy really. Spent most of my life disliking the bloke. I am still strangely enjoying this even though my club is on its knees.

Yep, poor Collingwood! Not sure what record books you're reading, but my recollection is that he actually WON them a flag. Then they got beaten by a rampant Geelong in the GF the next year after which he was promptly sakced.

Yep, lucky for Collingwood he left before winning them another flag. But at least Buckley continued the tradition. Took one of the youngest premiership winning teams in history, dismantled it, and has them playing well enough to lose to Richmond!!

The revisionism is well and truly underway!!!

The criteria is destroying the club.. Not accepting responsibility..
He the best!
And may I say he has a wonderful side saddle riding wingman here on talking Carlton..
Great for laughs

Yes Moshe.

....I meant to say "may" have cost them a flag or two.

Just pointing out that the biggest and possibly best run club in the country, with a very good list did everything in it's power to keep MM happy and look how it turned out.

He started the destabilization in 2011 and made it so much about him that half the list had to be traded out. Agreed to a handover and a new role and changed his mind.
There's no revisionism, just a belief that MM is one of those people who (to quote P Keating) says "give me the job or I'll wreck the joint".
