Well they appear to be all on the one page, albeit for all the wrong reasons. Unity is unity I guess ...

It will give us something to laugh about when Mick and Marc are holding up #17 in a year or two.

It will take more than a few years to get to 17 wooden spoons...about 15 right?

Message from the Prezzzz

Dear Schmuck,

There is no question that this is a challenging time for our football club and I share in your pain and frustrations over our recent on-field performances.

When I became President, I promised to lead and make decisions based on good information and thorough processes, and not in a rushed or pressured way.

To me, strong leadership not only involves articulating a plan and providing the guidance to achieve it, but also having the courage to concede if a plan requires adjusting and then executing the change accordingly.

The position of Senior Coach is one that we have consistently said would be reviewed in the second half of the season. That had always been the Club’s intention. However, we now believe it is in the best interests of our football club to alter our timeline.

Our CEO, Steven Trigg and myself met with Mick Malthouse today, and agreed that in the best interests of the club, we would make a decision on the future direction of our senior coaching position in the week of the bye, which is round 11.

Mick supports our revised timeline and has again committed to stay the course.

We are very mindful of the speculation surrounding the senior coaching role and the impact it is having. Out of care for all concerned we believe it is best to make a decision sooner than previously indicated and that the bye round represents an appropriate time.

We will take the next few weeks to review the future of the Senior Coach position before making an informed and rational decision to take Carlton forward.

As I have now said on numerous occasions, the days of quick fixes are behind us. Our approach to this very important decision will be methodical and considered. This is about making the right decision the right way, in an orderly manner that is right for Carlton.

While I have this opportunity I would like to thank you for your continued commitment, passion and loyalty through this time.

Together we will navigate through this and restore pride to our Old Dark Navy Blues.

What a joke - either sack him or stick with him until the end of the season - now we have 2 more weeks of this shit every day on every channel and in every newspaper.

We play the Swans in Sydney then Adelaide and will get pumped both games - wtf dothe Board think the decision will be??

Cut him off and cauterise - it's the only way.

I dare say the delay will be as much about the logistics of finalising/terminating Mick's contract and some support staff.

The bye allows for the emotions (good and bad) to settle before the next game v Power

Makes sense.

A lot of people blaming Mick for our current situation.
Bottom of the ladder is a reality check for how badly we have drafted.

A new coach is still going to take 5 years to get us in a position to challenge, we maybe slightly better but still aren't top 8. If we want to hover around 9th will be the North Melbournes and Richmonds of the AFL.

We were crap and bottomed out at the same time as Hawthorn but they drafted well and we didn't.

GWS and GC aren't gonna be stealing all the picks so it's a good time as ever to rebuild.

The contract should be based on the kids improving and a plan for the future, not appease a bunch of whiners blaming Mick for problems caused by others.

Waite can GAGF son of a club great at 31 wants 2 years then leaves because he's only offered one. He's not Ablett F$&@ off. Betts was always going to leave for family reasons, if Adelaide want to pay $600 K for a foward pocket let them, besides he wouldn't get the crumbling opportunities in our dis functional forward line. And Garlett was out of form and had behavior issues.
They may have scrapped us into the 8 but we wouldn't get the picks needed to rebuild.

Interesting two weeks coming up.

And who said emailing the club wont have influence :) l guess members have more value than most think. Great announcement from the club. Should of just ended it this wk though. But, l will take round 11 departure. Poor janette will be balling her eyes out for another couple wks. I dont have any sympathy for mick. A guy paid 1m a season dont deserve it for sending a club backwards. Board is next.

gibbs likely out.
Juddy looking to rest against syd
This is going to be ugly Friday night.
Who knows, Mick might stop trying to coach and we might play some agressive football.

Nothing wrong with that email IMO..

They have a plan, half way mark is good timing to make an announcement on the path ahead. Mick to stay? I'm leaning towards him Coaching the year whilst we search for a new Coach. We're overdew for a dew process when selecting a coach.

The only question I'll have is whether we will give Mick a mandate to give kids regular game time? Graham and Holman need a chance.

I really hope it isn't on purpose, that's disgusting if it is. Can you imagine Simpson and Judd missing tackles on purpose. No way. If there are players that do, they should be flicked because that isn't a culture you want anywhere.

Yeah! Right on!! We don't want any players wrecking the great culture at Carlton.

WEED.'EM.OUT.

And while we're at it, get rid of Malthouse - he's ruining our 'brand'...... I blew snot out of my nose trying not to laugh when I mentioned "brand" in the same sentence as "our".

That is why there is no great culture at Carlton, has been full of this type for far too long.

We know they are a joke, it would just be nice if someone had the spine to change it.

We see how people cry when players get the flick though.

Is it still a plan if you change your mind every other week?

Funny reading the first page of this thread.... I knew I was right back then and nothings changed. Worst decision we ever made was getting this bloke, the sooner he goes the better. Lame Jones and D Thomas will forever haunt us.....
