I guess there's two factions in regards to this with the playing group, much like there seems to be in the media, within the rest of the club, and of course here on TC.

I've attended coaching conferences where Barker has spoken, wasn't impressed.

He was fwd line coach for years and our fwd line was horrible the while time, no structures, no team work, no blocks, etc. he changed to defensive coach and that's since turned to shite.
I vote Laidler as interim, anyone but barker even

Well they've proven every criticism made of them to be absolutely true by dropping their bundle. Pathetic.

No brains, no desire, no commitment and not a lot of skill. That covers 90% of them. What a joke they are. Mick needs to go, but this lot have earned nothing (except $$).

Would be interesting to watch him coach us whilst playing for Sydney this week.

Would he be the first ever playing coach performing roles on opposing sides?

Well if Barker takes over that will at least guarantee us the number 1 pick.

Laidler is coaching Sydney. Don't think he'll turn his back on a finals team for a rebuild.

And I agree. If it's a choice between Mickael Malthouse and Stephen Baker, we're better off with Mickael. His better.

We'll go back to back... Is the priority pick still in place?

I heard the exact opposite from a player.
Plenty of people within the club are looking to deflect and excuse themselves. The truth is the board, administration and football department are responsible for creating a strong positive environment.
They're all failing dismally at the moment.

As for comments about Barker, I know he's the village idiot to TC but he's actually the one positive voice within the coaching group.

So, I hope you sacked her and replaced her immediately GWSSae?

Surely then he will be sakced this week.

The board should also announce a full independent review of club op's from the board to the bootstudder to commence ASAP and a spill of board positions at seasons end.

I guess they are divided. I also suspect that the players who are divided are at different ends of the food chain.

The club is fragmented.
The job of the president and the board is to have the whole operation going one way collectively.
Right now it's like herding cats.
The problem is watch this place explode from here.. You can call them all and start again.. Which looks like what were doing but from where I'm sitting this place is about to go KA-BOOOM!
Mark was a terrible choice for president just as Marc is for captain.
The club needs to be gutted..

It's falling apart by the day...
If you had a graph going and you were checking the trajectory of the projected forecast it's all going to hell!

John @#$%&! Barker?!

On the positive side he would have to be as a better coach than he was as a player.

Forewarning him isn't good enough. If he's going to stay on for the remainder of the season, there has to be guidelines put in place for the clubs future.
He's still coaching with little regard to the clubs future. Bringing in Warnock to replace Carrazzo was just another example of the same shit he's been serving up.
Until 5 minutes before 3/4 time on Friday, our centre square midfield group consisted of Gibbs, Murphy, Judd, Curnow and Cripps. Thats it! The only addition was Bell who was included to replace the subbed Gibbs.
And then you get people like Maclure bemoaning us giving up goals in red time. Hello!
Judd went into the game sore and Gibbs was subbed off with injury. Yet there was no respite at selection. Why not bring Graham in to replace Carrazzo? Why not run Tuohy or Docherty or Yarran or Everitt or Buckley or Tutt through there to give them a taste? What about Daisy carrying some of the load?

Compare that to Geelong who ran Selwood, Caddy, Bicavs, Motlop, Lang, Johnson, Stokes, Guthrie as midfielders. Be thankful Duncan and Kelly weren't fit enough to be there.

We are grinding our midfielders into the ground. Development doesn't exist at the moment.

What I don't understand is regardless if we get rid of Malthouse now or later we still need to pay him for the year anyway. So what's the extra cost?

If we appoint say Laidley as a caretaker then I guess we need to add a bit more to his assistant salary. Would that be the cost everyone keeps referring too?

I don't want Barker anywhere in contention. Blah, he should have been sacked ages ago, if not for his contract.

Can we now talk to assistants legally? I know clubs won't release them, but would prefer our next full time coach start fresh next year anyway.
