And Moir can be that sparkle and arrogance we need in the forward line. Much like Watson and Ginny for the Hawks. It’s infectious. Anyway hope Doch can inspire the ‘anything is possible’ motto for us tonight.

Let’s go Blues. Anything is possible, we just have to believe it and go out there with nothing to lose and have fun with it.

We are going to their home ground, we are not given any chance by the media ‘zero chance in hell’ apparently, and there is more expectation on Brisbane right now.

Let’s F Go !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The no.1 focus for tonight is to bring sustained and intense pressure.
No.2 is lower the eyes going into F50.

The equation for finals requires intense pressure, skill and game plan.

We just scraped into the finals on the back of pressure and a bit of return to our preferred game plan. But that isn’t enough on its own for finals.

If we play max pressure but with the team from last week, it is clear that Voss doesn’t believe we can win.

Yes we will require a lot of luck especially since it is difficult to click into form after 2 months out of form.

But, without our best players we are no chance. Even if we bring the pressure. But IF we have our best players and IF they can bring the pressure AND apply our desired game plan (incl lowering the eyes into F50) then with a bit of LUCK, we’re in with a shot.

(The luck is now required because we stuffed up our great position from mid-way through the year…)

If Zac Williams and Corey Durdin get through the game without further injury, we are in this game up to our eyeballs.
If we let Brisbane's giraffes - Daniher and Hipwood - play as they want, we are cooked.
And if I hear that bloody John Denver song anytime tonight, I will puke.

I know our form wasn't great going into the finals but Brisbane form in their last 3 games wasn't that flash

We are a chance beware the wounded beast

lol ... this is nowhere near a 50-50 game, old mate. take the blue blinkers off and take a deep breath. i think if we brought in 3 or 4 at most players and went with a couple of kids that never put a foot wrong in the final rounds, and made ourselves as mobile as humanly possible, we would have been a chance.

don't laugh at st kilda & their form. they had a top 4 profile in the final 4 weeks of the season, and killed the cats and beat the swans. and we took them to within 12 seconds of beating them - and we did it with pressure and turnover. which incidentally has been the lions kryptonite all season long

the dour possession, slow build up to contests, long bombs onto forward's heads doesn't work, and doesn't win games. cats showed what does, hard running both ways, speed and pressure on the ball and clever forward entries into space.

maybe youth was the wrong word for the cats. mannagh, lawson humpheries, max holmes, Gryan Miers, Brad Close etc

no hawkins, guthrie, de koning, tom stewart and rohan.

of them, hawkins, guthrie and sam could have all played, and if it was a prelim or gf they coulda risked tom stewart as well. but they had faith in their system and the players coming in to play their system, run hard both ways and tackle all night long.

... meanwhile at carlton, it's bring in 6 changes of varying underdone players to go with durdin and his dislocated shoulder and cross your fingers and shut your eyes and hope for the best.

pittonet and tdk are all out rucks; and other than the one game Vs the giants where tdk kicked a few (by clunking a few lucky marks that landed on his head) in all the other games he's shown he has little forward craft and isn't a forward.

H and tdk and kemp will apply very little ground ball pressure and turnover, and motlop and durdin aren't that much better in that department. lord have mercy, durdin is one bump from a dislocation and having his night ended.

according to everyone we're making up the numbers, and other than you, i haven't met anyone who thinks we're a show with this selected team. if we lose, i'd have rather gone down swinging with fit players under no injury clouds, applying pressure until the final whistle like we did against the saints.

instead, we're staring down a blowout of hawks magnitude, if one or two go down before HT.

i just wanted us to go into the game with less risk on big names with injury clouds, back our system and swarm & hunt.

a question for you - the cats backed their system and allowed underdone players another week. does voss and Co bringing in the big guns who may or may not finish the game, mean they don't have the same faith in their very own system? bcos that's how these selections read to me.

thanks for the response.

I thought you were exaggerating about the Geelong youth, just as you are suggesting I'm the only one who thinks its a 50-50 game. I'm sorry to tell you mate, but outside of the dark clouds within TC the feeling is its a 50-50 game for many reasons. Its our system vs their system. They gave speed we have grunt. I've seen underdogs with grunt, desire and hunger beat speed in Finals plenty of times to know, that in Finals, form during the season counts for nothing, like percentage. I know they are favourites for good reasons. Its still a 50-50 game. I dont know how to explain that.

Do you really think 10000 Carlton fans have travelled all the way to Brisbane paying $500 one way and $1000 a night accomodation to watch a team who has zero chance? There's plenty of confidence and plenty to look forward to. If our players dwell on the negativity spruiked on this site, they will lose.

Ive read enough articles and heard many footy commentators tell their audience what it will take for Carlton to win this game. Why? Because its possible. Evenb Dwayne didnt say we are making up the numbers and said we have the list and coach to go all the way. But you choose to have Kane Cornes as the voice of SEN and the people and respect his voice as the only voice. I don't. I keep my eyes and ears open, and we will se. Win or lose, its a cut throat final I just want our boys to give it their best and hope Nathan umpires fairly.

90% of the game is above the shoulders. Brizzy will shit thei pants if we have the momentum. We can only wait and see.

Yes you can.
I like the team. We need to play with desperation, pressure and our contested way.
Just need to trust the MC.

Geez Surrey, you sound confident in our team. There's another one.

Good on you. Much more enjoyable to look forward to a win, and naturally be disappointed in a loss.

As long as the boys give their all, do themselves proud and prove the knockers wrong, win or lose.

Brizzy are favourites. Good!

Forget selection. There's enough talent in the team. The key will be pressure. If we play 4 quarters of high pressure, unrelenting football, we'll be every chance to win. Champion Data put out some info earlier this week that if Brisbanes opponents bring higher than 180 pressure, Brisbane have won 4 from 10 games.
We're the best pressure team when the mindset if correct. That's what it comes down to. Can our selected players bring 4 quarters of the pressure required. No lapses.

(straight kicking in front of goal would be a bonus as well)

That's the ticket BV. We have weapons. People conveniently forget that.

You have a fkn fantastic day today, and enjoy the boys giving it their all, and you know, maybe, just maybe, the Blues Army cheers the boys over the line, such is the power of the 19th player.

I disagree. It comes down to mindset. Fitness means jack shit if you don't have the hunger. Jaxon Binns could probably outrun any player in our team but he doesn't have the physical intent at the moment. I'd take any of the recent selections over him easily.

Desire Desperation Hunger Persistence. Never say die.

Watching tonight’s game, one things we must do apart from pressure is lower the eyes when entering the fwd 50

Walshy mentioned the boys learned a lot about their game by lowering their eyes with Harry and Charlie out.

I'm looking forward to this. The smalls and medium size players have to feature.

That's the spirit GE

Its anyone's flag.

It has been one crazy season.

I don't know how anyone can be confident to pick results after what we've all seen this year.

Come on Baggers !!!!

100%

running hard, and running out games.

All the more reason not to select Moir and Lord who I believe don't yet have the necessary fitness levels.

lord has more probability to run out a game tomorrow than doc, cerra and williams combined.

moir would have been a handy sub.

looking at deer tonight, made me think moir is going to be better, at least with more x factor and speed. but we haven't seen enough.

Exaggerating again braithy...just to make as point....not very convincing.

Oh yeah...good luck tonight with your son's fight.

I love Vossy.
His comments about the umpires are perfect.

The build up is exciting.

7 hours before the bounce....pace it out...must be loving the heat.

What a great vibe being a Carlton fan in Brizzy. Enjoy !!!
