So I guess the next 14 games we lose by 50+ points it will be all Malthouse's fault ...

I just hope we play a structured free flowing game plan and lets the kids( and everyone for that matter) play attractive footy

Those are mutually exclusive concepts. :P

Do you mean a fluid attacking game plan that encourages players to make a play on the ball/contest rather than trying to lock down and scrag an opponent?

They're not mutually exclusive at all. Geelong for all their premierships played an attacking free flowing game with an attacking structure that allowed it and a defensive structure to shut the opposition down if they turned it over.

Port have done it, so have the dogs and GWS. All young teams playing an attacking brand of footy with a clear structure. Playing an attacking game doesn't just happen by accident.

sounded like Caro's leak is 'roll the dice', and come to think of it, slobbo as well

both seemed 'unusually' supportive of the big fella

even when asked about the board being there for a long time and being complicit in the curret malarky, they both iterated that this is a 'new regime'

Seriously

Wallsy on the board? He'd pull no punches, which would be good. But does he have the grasp on modern football he craves the club to have?

I guess he'd be no worse than our current board.

Not kidding at all; do you want them to play a rigid, structured game or a more fluid game?

Where would you rather be, living the slow life in the south of France or at Princess Park?

I'm sure he's based there now, could be wrong though

No chance to be on the board, wouldn't mind him on the coaching committee though

An incensed Carlton considered withholding a significant portion of Mick Malthouse's six-figure contract, believing the veteran coach had breached his contract with the explosive radio interview that accelerated his sacking.

While Carlton president Mark LoGiudice cited a loss of trust between his board and Malthouse as the reason for the sacking on Tuesday, club insiders said the coach had deliberately goaded the club into an immediate termination through his provocative on-air comments.

On the interview he mentioned that he and his partner were back in 2 weeks. They've bought a house in france and intend to go back once a year or something like that. My impression was that they were going to be based in Australia.

Yeah but he can still slot a wheel of Camembert through a couple of giant baguettes from 50.

Well the inevitable has happened.

What passes me off is that MM never clearly articulated the reason why he could not win games early in the season (this year is protracted).

Why was this so?

Why did his enthusiasm vanish in the space of the first 2 weeks from not losing a game to bust.

Why the extremely poor performance in the first 2 rounds prior to the rebuild statement. Why?

$1m a year? The mind shudders.
