"Even though we have a lot of great players, all the players respect each other and play as a team"

Mark Thompson - when asked if the key was that they had a few stars that could take the game on in the last quarter.

Fev doesn't respect his teammates and I wonder if they can respect him.

I thought the same thing when I heard Bomber say that.

I'm starting to get very concerned that our boys are in danger of becoming a bunch of FIGJAMs.

Leadership, or a demonstrably obvious lack of leadership, is the centre of this debate and Fevola's antics are symptomatic of poor leadership at our club. Simple. Until that is rectified, we will not progess to the level that is possible with the players we have on our list.
I find this very frustrating.

Agree. Fev is apparently an adult and is totally responsible for his actions, but the club, particularly Kernahan, Ratten and even Judd have been too indulgent of Fev for too long. I wonder if Voss or Buckley would have laughed off the antics of an out of control teammate. The whole club needs to HTFU.

The club's culture is soft. The president of the club boozing up in the players rooms after a game is an example.

I understand the Carlton brass not wanting to make a scene during the count by telling Fev to leave, but couldn't they have told the waiters not to serve Fev, or told him he had to stop drinking if he knew what was good for him?

Voss? The same drunk guy who held a bloke on a bar room floor whilst a drunk Simon Black kicked him?

And both of those ended well didn't they. Hall was a model citizen for 4-5 years when the Swans were flying.

See Hawthorn - yap I see Lance Franklin.

Self riteousness? Too funny, Fev is Fev.. providing he doesn't drink during the season or during pre season I don't care what he does in his three months to himself. He hasn't hurt the club one iota. The whole football fraternity know what Fev is like, he is just well, a harmless tosser when he is drunk.

I have a suspicion that it may prove to be a little more than that. Sadly.

I think Fev needs a lesson in humility and humanity.
He should be sent to do community service in an orphanage in South Africa .
To work with children who have lost their parents in the AIDS pandemic there.
Just to reaalise how lucky he is to have what he has... and how he shouldnt throw his life away.

He will... get the big heave ho from Carlton when the goals dry up.
He will lose his wife and family.
He will then lose his ca$h
Then he will not have a job in the media as everybody will not want anything to do with him
He will not work as a fork lift driver..or a 7elevan attendant... so dunno where he thinks hios cash will come from.
He will live in a blackroom emptying his bottles of Jim Beam thinking about his life...

If Fevola doesnt learn how good things really are for him today.... and how quickly life can just turn around chew him up and spit him out... he will be a massive loser...

a reality check of like that would be an excellent thing for someone like Fevola.

If he plays for Carlton again it's a disgrace.

How many times does he have to disrespect the club before the club takes genuine action. it's only EVER been about Fev for Fev.

And if Sticks buys the latest round of contrition from Fev he'll simply prove himself to be the fool a lot of people suspect him of being.

"I'll be locking Fev in a room and holding the key".... what a joke.

Today showed what it takes to win the ultimate prize in this competition. How many times does Fev ned to prove he isn't part of that equation before the club wakes up.

I don't care if we get nothing for Fev, and end up paying his salary for two years... addition by subtraction.

Chris Judd's plea to Fevola

Quote:
"I think he's embarrassed himself again and his family and the entire football club and it's becoming a regular occurrence," Judd said at a Grand Final eve function at Old Scotch Oval.

"It is getting to the stage where Brendan cannot handle his alcohol.

"Hopefully this is the wake-up call and he'll take it on board to stay away from the booze."

One thing is certain. Fevola is the most divisive influence for the club since Elliott.

Compassion and support is what he needs according to some. He's had that for ten years.

If you put a player on the trade table you get one measure of the player's value. Fev himself said no-one would want him. So that measure puts his value at about zero.

To get another measure of his value ask yourself how would you like to have a player like Tomahawk?

How did he get a contract for $700,000 a year? Is this lucrative contract a part of the problem? How do other players feel about it? How do sponsors feel about it?

Yeah I know, anyone who don't accept what Fevola does is a self righteous knob. Doesn't have any compassion

Let's lock this thread?

Well everything Fevola does says "Look at me!", "Talk about me!"

when you take a shit.. a truck doesnt still come around the back and remove it once a week does it???

the worlds changing....

if footballers dont want to be role models they can play in the suburban league... they wont have to be role models.

Its a billion dollar industry.... like any big dollar industry ... there are standards.. because so much money is riding on it...
