They've been trying to contact Menzies, so far no calls have been answered.

Reminds me of nice old political anecdote.

Robert Menzies was interupted by a heckler who called out:

"Wotcha gonna do about 'ousing?"

To which he replied:

"Put an 'h' in front of it."

Regardless of the outcome, I hope they hit the ground running with a media frenzy re: draft picks, change of the list, moving on heaps of players and any skerrick of ideas left up their sleeve.

Its good that this is purported to be happening now to give everyone some time to get used to it, work together plus a whole pre-season, but our name is mud and we need that plan that Synbad has been rabbiting on about for eons.

Synbad - no word on my idea but I understand 3 Directors are supportive?

I think you will find they have already been spoken to.

Has it been mentioned in this thread or are you in the know?

I have been watching the likes of Rocket Eade and Terry Wallace on Foxtels White Line Fever, and this is really where Pagan's downfall is from my perspective.

They were talking about the situation last night and Rocket Eade was talking up the kids, some players on the list, and painting a picture as we head into the draft shortly.

This is one area that Pagan just doesn't do, or doesn't do in an effective way.

That's what ultimately shits me.

The rest is subjective, this is in your face, or not in your face depending how you look at it.

Absolutely. The press stay away as he has nothing to say, ever. Same old poor jibes about nothing.

In our position we must be selling the Club. The only thing we have to sell is the future (and the history, but future sells better). Not only does pagan not talk the Club up, but he admonishes reps of the Club for allowing his players to talk to the press. He has refused countless website interviews (this to me is the easiest form of communication to his members) and has failed to represent a footy plan. It is a key part of the frustration we have felt at the end of this year.

Not me, but my contact seems to know a lot. I guess we will find out soon enough! Given the history of coaches getting the cheeks from their respective clubs, if the Prez isn't willing to back the coach publicly then I thinks it is good night nurse for Denis.

as long as Mitchell isn't appointed with out the proper interview process taking place with all available candidates! But yeah for the president not to back the coach with 2 years left on the contract i reckon gone!

Caro had a piece ready for print before last night's deadline..
She was going to write about Pagan staying, the board not taking on Sticks' recommendations etc.

After the backflip, her piece had to be withdrawn before publication.

Hit the nail on the head.

This is a major worry. He hardly ever does interviews (expect post game) and when he is interviewed there is a black cloud hanging over his head, he's depressing to listen to and does nothing, absolutely nothing to sell the club and sell hope to us as members/supporters.

Just on Channel 10...

At the end of last night's meeting, Pagan was out.

Today, some board members having cold feet.

Compromise may be in the offer...Silvagni to be an assistant.

However, some board members believe that after everything that has gone on, Pagan's position is untenable (because of all the doubt/talk/suggestion/lack of support etc), and must go.

I would have thought the 'controversial circumstances' I have often spoken of are getting controversial enough for Denis to leave before very long.

Hutchy just said that Mitchell made his presentation to the board
SOS has agreed to be Pagans assistant if he stays
Confirms the $1mil payout from ex players fro Pagans head

Pagans tenure looks in serious trouble

Decision will be made tonight

So much for looking for the best candidate

And on 7 just now...Craig Hutchison saying they are STILL meeting at PP!

Mitchell did his presentation to the Board this arvo and nicked off....SOS apparently has volunteered (?) to be an assistant to Pagan if he stays.

Hutchy said the place is in disarray.................just like the good old pre George Harris days?
