It will grow on us eventually, plus it took 8 years to change the last one, we'll just wait another 8.

The emblem looks to far up i reckon, its too close to the afl and dan murphy logo. Why cant they move it down a bit, make it look more proportioned...

Looks like crap.

Too small, wrong place, badly done, badly thought out.

Marketing suicide.

I went in to the shop on Thursday, to buy the New White preseason polo. I really like it by the way. The member discount is back, so instead of paying $75, I paid $67. The new replica jumpers are in but not the raised logo authentic ones yet. The replicas are $110. They still have heaps of the heritage jumpers, the ones printed for the players with numbers on the back of them for $150, but they had medium up sizes. Spoke to the girls, and they said everything comes out in about March, also a new Blue Polo top with the thicker material.

Check it out, the white Polo while thin is really good material and great for summer. its dri fit and it looks excellent on.

I got an email from the Club inviting us for a meet and greet with Kouta, Stevo, and Marc Murphy.

What I found interesting is this: The email contained TWO versions of the new logo.

While I detest the jumper version, I quite like the version which was in the banner ad at the top of the email.

Take a look:
Image

In my not-so-humble opinion, the version which is at the top of the image, looks like a cross between the 1920-1997 jumper logo and the 1998-2005 logo.

Maybe the club should look at that version instead. It's much stronger, better balanced.

Everything that the "new" one isn't.

The online shop on the whole is a disgrace.

When a new jumper is announced, the club should put it on the site, promote it, make it available to buy straight away online, send overseas etc.

Instead we put up with a 'shop' that is out of date, out of stock, looks crap and is run like a lamington stall.

Take a look at the online shops for football clubs in europe, baseball in the US etc.

I know they have bigger budgets but the model is so easy to scale...

I know the shop was designed by Accenture, some 4 years ago (explains a lot), but online shop software is probably some of the most common web software out there. Joke.

Agree 100%

The jumper would have been in the works for some time now, and I'm sure more than a few samples of EVERY piece of merchandise with it on it was made.

How hard would it have been to arrange photography for it all, and get the shop site ready, so that when the new year came along, or when the new jumper was announced, the shop went "live" that day.

That sort of thing is what happens when you rely on agencies such as Getty for ALL photographic needs. Getty are an agency with specific focus on sport. Why would they be bothered fitting in some product shooting? They probably kept putting it off and off citing that no-one was available due to other commitments.

Abso bloody lutely. It looks so lame that I think anything I buy from there is going to be 5 year old stock, you know what I mean?

Wished they'd fix that up, makes us look cheap.

I say again: They should change to the version at the top of this image, rather than the one below.

KK, it's the same image, constrained vertically (Kouta's not that fat!)

I agree though it looks better that way, and a cross between the old and the new too

I know it's the same one, constrained vertically, but in a case of serendipity, it looks so much better....
