Alas, I reckon Lance might stay. Nothing concrete yet but it's more likely he'll keep sucking us dry.

I'll be pretty angry if we keep him.

I won't be angry if we keep him, but I'll be pissed if we pay him 400 large. 350 is already too much IMO.

This isn't cut and dried. The word is he's leaning more towards staying than, say, yesterday. Could change, of course (let's hope so). Don't even know if more cash has been offered.

So it's not gospel, just relaying what the latest is.

Do you think he'll stay for less?

Don't think so.

Thanks for the info anyway, Kenneth.

Adelaide's prepared to take a stance on Watts - Crows not happy he's come out and told them where he wants to go. They're talking with St Kilda but claim they're prepared to do a Nick Stevens and let him go for nothing if the Saints don't play ball. They want a first-rounder. And who'd be waiting in the PSD - which gets thinner by the day ...

Cornflakes said on SEN today they still want him and of course they chased him hard last year. But he didn't sound like he's willing to trade a 1st round pick by saying they are just going to use their picks and then close the book on the draft.
I'm praying he ends up in the P.S.D. as the rest of the available talent sound like duds!

yup, let's just hope the additional $70k he could get elsewhere persuades him to move on.

It seems like the club is setting itself up to be bent over again by other players in the future. For everything that was said about Chocco allowing Stevens to go into the draft, it did draw a line in the sand. I just wish that we would...

I tell ya what synbad if we cave we have a long road back because it shows nothing has changed.

I am getting sick of the club playing games. It should be 300k no more or we tell him to stick it up his arse.He owes us a shitload more than we owe him.

I am so angey that if we cave i will not renew my famliy membership.

time for us to grow a spine.

Serenity now!

We all have to take a deep breath and see that the club is doing what's in everyone's best interests.By signing players who'll guarantee the no.1 pick in the best draft ever!

I am not sure if the club are just playing games and are trying to ensure the best possible trade for lance by making him look like a highly desirable and important player, but from the outside it looks like the club is in a shambles with no direction and strategy. I am hoping that this is just a ruse to get the best possible outcome via a trade, but my faith is dimishing with every passing day.

Posted this the Whitnall thread (one of them  ) in the Recruitment section but it should probably be in here:

Just be careful who you believe in all this. The word for a while now is that we've upped our offer to $350K and Whitnall wants $400K. That's a difference of $50K.

Suddenly we're supposed to have upped our offer again and the difference is now $70K?

The article just says it "was confirmed". By whom? CFC? Lance? Ricky Nixon? Mike Sheahan? Barb? Fevolution?

We criticise the club for being reactive and then we just accept anything that shows them potentially in a negative light and in doing so we're guilty of exactly the same thing.

Whenever something like this is in the media the only question worth asking is "who wanted this public and why?".

Spot on GWS.

Anyone who reads newspapers, listens to radio or watches TV reports (especially sports related) should always do so with an air of skepticism.

Agendas are almost always at work and until cold hard facts are presented (a delisting, a signing, a trade) comments from any party must be taken with a grain of salt.

Pretty confident about the 350 and 400 figures.

As to who wanted the negoiations public, who knows, lots of dirty pool gets played between the managers/player and clubs at this time of year.
