Melbourne brought in 2 players with on field leadership in Steele and Miochek
We brought in fringe players

They added them to Gawn MacDonald and Petty with Viney to come in
They now have players all over the park directing traffic . They also removed their selfish players who played for themselves other than the team

We have gone years with just Cripps and Weiters and no forward half general at all and it is why are forward line is a mess
If you are going to bring in 27 and 28 year old players they need to be leadership material

As a club they appear to be more worried about bringing people to the club who are off field than on field

Spot on.
That is why we should've went for Mihocek last year.
I thought given we had GW he would've been a shoe in.
And he was unrestricted.

Good question CK.

We can all agree for Williams to miss it would be because of injury.

The way Pickett drove his shoulder into Williams’ arm which was protecting his ribs, it could be bruised ribs or a fractured.

Clubs don’t like to highlight rib injury because they do take weeks to heal, and if he returns early, the ribs would be a target for his opponent. Hence the failure of the club to mention anything.

Re the Bondiblue success predictor index, sinbagger, well that applied to 2025 and 2024. It’s obvious to all of us this no longer applies since we lost our No 1 ruck TDK, CHB SOS, FF Charlie and leading small goal kicker Owen from our list.

This year I would dare say the new players and new game plan have failed to move the dial.

My conclusion is, we need our best 25 available fit and in form to win some games.

I think Williams is in our best 23. If it’s a fracture, he will miss. If it’s a bruise he will be sore. I doubt he will play. Brings the number missing to 9.

The VFL Report did not give much of a rap for Haynes.

Williams and Young in I think. Out Weiters and Byrne would be my guess.

It should also be noted that Melbourne still had 12 of their premiership players on the paddock

Exactly and they sill added more.
How many did we field again?
We seriously lack on-field leadership.

I can't see Kemp being dropped after kicking three goals. Perhaps Byrne will make way.

You'd be stoked if you bought tickets to this, paid your $900 per night share room accommodation and $3.20 per litre of diesel to drive across for this one.

Byrne? Averages more inside 50 tackles than any of our players. It would be a very short sighted decision IMO.

Agree, Byrne flies under the radar and deserves to keep his place
