Same.

I think it’s that weird delusional state that comes after you’re finally fully broken and everything looks slightly better than it did the day before.

My excitement is as high as its been for the last 6 weeks.
We can win this despite missing 14 players vs Hawks missing only 2

Glad we are bringing in a gun for Docs last game.
Harry was ready last week, so must be ripe.

I'm sure the boys are switched on
Lets find out what type of a person Charlie is tonight.

Still a very young team with 9/23 players U23:

19 O'Farrell
20 Carroll
20 Lord
20 Cowan
20 Moir
20 Hollands
21 White
22 Motlop
23 Durdin

Much too young for a team rebuilt from scratch over 10 years.
Ridiculous really, but we find out which will play a role next year.

Good luck to the team. Give it your best shot boys.

Same sh1t - but we have no depth with players such as LCampo, Binns, Wilson, Boyd.

So who would you replace for Wilson or Boyd - Cowan, Hollands, Carroll or Doc in his last game?
And would you put Binns or L Campo in before Acres if he is fit to play in Doc's last game?

As you all know, I am not an Acres fan, but I have no issue with the ins this week.

Boyd before Acres and Harry should have had a run in the VFL first. Just no standards.

Boyd is not a wing though and you don't run your top 6 players through the VFL unless you have exceptional depth and even then, I doubt there are many clubs that would anyway.
I get you want standards, we all do, but you are overvaluing the list again.
Don't get me wrong, I like Boyd and his speed and kicking, but he is also not consistent and hasn't really stood out this year when he has played and from reports, he hasn't really stood out in the VFL either.
As for Harry, who would you play forward instead of him, Lemmey?
Who had 4 disposals and 1 goal on the weekend, that's not my idea of standards.

Round 3 v Hawks 8.12 v 12.8

Hawks had 2 out and their 2 best on the night were playing: Weddle and Chor.
I think Chor was the difference, but the lack of concentration in first 15 mins after half time
Missed 7 set shots at goal. FMD
Silvagni 1.3, Motlop 1.3, Tom, Crippa, George.

Missing

Round 3 v Round 16

Newman... Newman
Smith ......Smith
Hollands....Hollands
Fantasia....Fantasia
Cincotta....Cincotta
Pittonet.... McGovern
McKay.......Silvagni
Carroll......Walsh
Durdin......Cottrell
OFarrell.....Kemp
OKeefe......Evans
Duffy...... .Young
Monohan...Young
................Camporeale

Looks like we had better personnel available in round 3

For all those who don't think injury could disrupt our best 23 team, have another look.
Its a reflection of our seasons, in 2022, 2023 and 2024. 2023 we got players back after half way mark and shoulda coulda..

Common sense sidey

I love Boydy and have looked for reasons why he is being over looked.
He looks like an AFL player with his kicking, but he's lost a yard, and is finding it hard to break lines.
Most of his possessions are cheapies: either from kick ins, or on his own behind the ball taking uncontested marks.
There's been a lot turnovers from him this year. There's reasons why this year isn't his.
As a 28yo, what I want to know is if he has passed his peak. It may well be the case, but I'm blaming his disrupted preseason, even after 17 rounds of footy.

Those speeches yesterday would move the needle a bit.
If that doesn't get the boys up and about, and want to run through a brick wall, they are just there for the pay packet.
Hopefully this game binds the brotherhood.

I'm with you, I still hope he can get back in form, when he's up and running he's a jet.
And those pin point kicks to players last year are what we've needed all year.

It might move the needle for a quarter or two but the Hawks have a superior list, game plan and coach.

I don't expect us to win but I expect a 4 quarter effort.

If we dish up the same shit we did for Murphy's 300th, heads need to roll ASAP.

Hawks by 6 goals. Hopefully Doc gets a final goal.

We'll soon know if the players are on tonight. Too often lately our intensity to defend the uncontested mark has been below standard. Too many of our players are looking to defend grass instead of positioning themselves with purpose. (especially the captain)
We need every player switched on. Any holes and the Hawks have the skill to pierce it. An 18 man grid operating in unison is required. Let's see if our leaders can demand it and maintain it.

And please, give me something from defensive kick ins other than Saad bouncing the ball, running into the pocket and kicking it to a contest. You're a full time coach Hamill. Try doing something for a change.

Hawthorn have toyed with us for the best part of 20 years and have zero respect for us - unless they take us lightly I can’t see us beating them.

Pressure on the ball carrier, iambic pressure. Give them zero time, and smash them when you tackle.

Give Doc the send off he deserves
