What is it with this guy? It’s not the first time he’s left a match with some ouchies and scans have come back there’s nothing wrong with him.

What is it? He has no pain tolerance. Doesn’t fight thru things? Not resilient?

So sick of getting one good quarter a month from him - but that qtr is lightning in a bottle and just what we need. What a freaking tease

If so, I think we have lost all perspective.

No that's not what is said, and therefore, not lost perspective.

In a nutshell, just saying we should call all mistakes for what they are, without having to hang the players out to dry.

We are the stakeholders of the clubs. The players are the employees. We have a right to pint out mistakes.

Cowan has been out of form, not only in praccy games, but last 3 rounds. He never played as loose as he's been playing before. He needs to raise his standards. Standard is what he set when he was a teenager the last 2 years. He's now 20yo and a staple in our team.

Everyone has to get better.

Weak as piss.

We are stuck with him 2025 and 2026. Can't trade him. Can't cut him, at $8-900K per year.

He's done his Achilles before so I can understand why club & player were cautious

I've been whinging for years that we always send injured players back on & make it worse so on this one I'll give them the benefit of the doubt

OK.

So he is just injury prone, and "half a phat".

Surely Binns would be a better option than Evans - yes they play a different role but FFS Binns would provide more run especially when we come to a walk in the second half of games.

Evans did spend some time on the wing against the Bulldogs!

I’m not sure that is correct. Didn’t have his best game but not his worst either and but off memory at the very least was one our best r1.

Very harsh!

I am not sure that pain tolerance is relevant. You were at the game, he went for a contested mark or spoil and came down awkwardly. Not uncommon with the physicality of the game. He went off for assessment and Voss said were preparing him to come back on but the medicos decided against it given his past achilles issues.
I agree its frustrating but I am sure if you spoke to him he would be just as frustrated.

If Harry returns and Williams remains in the side then I think we are reasonable chance of knocking off the Pies.
I think Docherty has to be dropped and hopefully Binns comes in to replace him.
Not sure about the fitness of Durdin and Fantasia however they would be an upgrade on Evans.
Cowan seems to be struggling in defence and maybe moving him to the wing could be beneficial? Can Acres play a defensive role at half back? I would rather Cowan kicking it to our forwards than Acres.

Can’t see us winning this game
Looking at the draw we could be 1 and 10 at the bye round

I like the Charlie Young and Kemp combo.

The stage is set for Charlie to stick it right up em; his 3rd game of the season, any format.

From memory he had a grumble with it last time and ruptured his achilles the next week. Caution was the best approach.

Shades of 2008 when we started 0-3 under Ratts and faced a far superior Pies, played them off the park for 4 quarters and won comfortably.

Charlie needs to do a Fev.
