Opposition supporters, both at work and home, have been asking me all week, how I’m feeling, are you ok?
I’m ignoring, them as most are friends and good people - so they don’t want me to answer..

I have one ex co-worker who has posted a constant stream of shit about Carlton on Facebook since Saturday, but the guy has an ABI so I let him have his fun. Still, it'd be nice if he'd stop tagging me in his posts.

He has "Madpie" as part of his Facebook name, so his football team is a huge part of his identity.

None of my friends have mentioned it.

Not because they’re being sensitive.

They just wouldn’t know.

Artsy fartsy lefty cuck wankers the lot of them.

I am still fuming after Saturday. In fact I am angrier now than I was on the night.
Angry that we have wasted yet another year, angry that we have once again become the laughing stock of the competition.
Like others on here people have been kind to me and have said very little about the game.
Anyway, we move on but this feeling is going to hang around for a while yet I think.

I'm honestly not bothered. By half time it was just laughably predictable.

I love cricket and if I want my own pain at the hands of a football code to continue, I have West Ham.

Plus there's always music. It's truly the team that never lets you down.

2022 was wayyyyy worse for me. Deadset depression for 5 days after that Pies loss.

Couldn’t get into footy again until they got eliminated by Sydney, and Cripps winning the Brownlow made me enjoy footy again.

Saturday night was more of a clown show than a tragedy in my eyes.

Yep, 2022 was worse.

Now I feel better. Thanks, T86.

I'm off to whistle some Python.

I had an abnormal amount of friends try to bait me via text during the game, which I played with a straight bat.

I made my peace with this season going down the drain somewhere around the port loss at Marvel. The giants loss was concerning but a once off at that point. Alarm bells were going off for me left right and centre when we lost to a banged up dogs side in Cripps 200th. The Norf performance was terrible despite us winning. Was hoping maybe that would kick us into gear but by the end of the Port second half it was clearly we were as cooked as a well done steak.

Once the rot sets in at Carlton in season, we struggle to turn the ship around. See end of 22, start of 23 and end of 24.

So all that is to say I wasn’t all that surprised with Saturday night’s result even though the method of falling behind by 10 goals was embarrassing and incredibly disappointing. I’d already resigned myself to the season going down the drain.

Add to that people from NSW.

That was fairly annoying.

Good thread. A few comments.

I agree the season flew by. I remember exchanging texts with a mate in the final round of the H&A season and we both said how are we already at the last round?
It's a bit empty in that there's always next week...until there isn't. I'm feeling blah but not that bad. We either go to the games or watch at home, so we went to a pub on Saturday night and I just got stupidly drunk and obnoxious and quite enjoyed myself tbh.

The slow burn also started for me around the Dogs game. I'd also put GWS as an off night but the Dogs game had me worried. I reckon we would have probably beaten Port tho if we hadn't been so banged up off a 5 day break, they really just ran out of steam.
The Collingwood game is what did me in. Remember how we always used to always seize up when we played Essendon**? Well, now we do so against Collingwood.
If we couldn't piss on their milestone game, snuff their season out and get ours back on track that night...then I knew we were in deep shit.
Hawthorn was salt in the wound and if we @#$%&! lose to St Blunder again next year I'll @#$%&! spew up.

The season's a failure overall, falling into the finals and putting up that performance leaves a very sour taste in the mouth.
Having said that I think we're nearly there, it's like we trying to put something together and just haven't got the right tools, or are putting it together in the wrong order.

I did read a funny comment somewhere saying, "why can't we just lose normally?!" which rang true.

and yeah Brisbane can get stuffed. The only thing they've done is let Collingwood win a flag.
Pretty close to my thoughts
