It would be great to get a tiny bit of luck and have Martin miss and maybe Lynch trips over at training and doesn't get up for the game.

Anyone interested in AFL would know the consequences of this game for both Carlton and Richmond.

This is huge, just like the Giants game was...Swans game, Pies game, Effedopes game.

Every week is a Finals berth for Carlton, and I have to back them in given what they've shown this year.

Cerra played a great game in Round 1 win win vs Tigers, and he will be missing, as will Pittonet, Weitering, McDonald, McGovern, Williams, along with an in form Setterfield, and Williamson who all played a role in our round 1 game.

I thought Pittonet rucked really well throughout that game, and in the last quarter, a fresh young ruckman with a huge jump, TDK, won every centre clearance in the last to give us a huge win running over the Tigers.

Tigers have a full list to choose from this Thursday. We will miss Pittonet, Weitering, McGovern, Williams and Cerra

I know its their home game, but we can win this. Have to win this.

Agree, we’ll miss some. However, hoping they miss dusty amd we benefit from a fit Charlie, an energised Young AND the addition of Walshy

Those 3 names are great ins, and Charlie was a tad rusty in round 1 ... add Marchbank, Boyd, Cottrell and Newnes. They have all played a good role for the team.

We have fire power all over the ground.

Expect a lift from our mids this week after losing centre clearances vs effendopes*

Luck would be the apt request from me too...wouldn't that be an evener with our outs.

I thought Nankervis, in particular, and Soldo, in the ruck, gave their mids great service against Port.

TDK will have his hands full, and SOS vs Nankervis has me scratching my head. I wonder how SOS will get around the huge 100kg body of Nankervis.

We have some good ins since last time we played them, esp Walsh and Young but also some huge outs in Cerra, Pittonet & Weitering - esp the last two given their rucks and key forwards.
They have a couple of very important ins, esp Prestia & Vlaustin.

I feel like the three big keys for us are:
1) Dominate the stoppages (esp midfield & forward). Deny them the ball, burst out with forward momentum
2) Nullify their rebound from defence - starting with Vlaustin, Balta and also Rioli has been doing well back there. Eyes low and good delivery; manic forward defense and tackling
3) Pressure, pressure, pressure! All over the ground. All the time.

if we lose to richmond and freo and then win every other game (possible now Melb is on the skids) we can still make eight (predictor says third place if other games are decided on ladder position at the time of games).

lose three games and we can still make the eight. lose four… very difficult with our percentage.

JSOS will try and read the tap and catch it or bounce it into Nankervis and tackle him for another ball up. :-)

To be fair, he turns it on in pretty much every match he plays. He is indeed a ripper. But he is no CRIPPA!

Edwards is playing, he's being selected, dubiously for a week or two.
He played against Port ...80% TOG for a dozen disposals and 164 m gained.

This has to be his last year....one year too many imo.

Confusing post. You’re saying if we lose to Richmond and freo but win every other game, we can still make the eight? No shit Sherlock! That would leave us at 17-5!

Then you say if we lose four more games it will be very difficult to make finals.. That would leave us at 15-7, and still an absolute lock to play finals, regardless of percentage

Is it too early to start asking questions of our medical staff, specifically if they brought him in too early after a scare in the VFL recently ? FFS
