Very flat after that loss.
Great fight back in the last, and we shoulda, coulda... stolen it...with a bit of luck.
Oh well.

I guess everyone has pinpointed Carroll as the weakest link.
His form in the last 2 weeks carried in this game. Sooooo slow in mind....FMD.

Our wings, LOB, Cottrell, Newnes...I don't care about what they did well, but I worry when I compare them to the output of Collingwood wings.

Where were our smalls...Durdin, Motlop, Owies, Fisher....yeah couple shots by Fish and a couple goals to Owies, but apart from that...terrible.

Charlie was amazing to kick 4 goals 2 against 2 opponents.

I think we all know Martin should have been selected over Carroll, and Kemp as the 23rd was the right thing to do, regardless of the fact he was sub last week.

In Finals, you don't go playing with one ruckman, because injury can strike, throwing structure out the door.

Lets hope we win 4-5 more games of the next 11, with a depleted list.

I do agree that Weitering would have been worth a few more goals and hence, the win.
However, I also think that the most glaring deficiency for us was not in defence where we could point to Weitering as a big game changer. It was with our turnovers and their run through the middle with minimal pressure ending up with an easy pass to a man with 20m of clear space, 40m out.
Finally, whilst I think that we showed a lot of heart to keep coming, I also feel the scoreline flatters us a bit b/c I reckon Collingwood felt they had done enough once they pulled 4 goals clear in the last quarter and eased off a bit.

I think Coll played better than us for most of the match. And we were not as ferocious as we have been.
Good fodder for Voss going in to the bye. Had we won that, I worry that we would have inevitably bought the press coming our way over the bye and then dropped our effort in the coming weeks.

We have a HUGE month:
- Ess - simply MUST win this in a match where the Bombers will fancy themselves
- Richmond - this will be a v tough match, esp if Lynch is back. But in any event Reiwoldt will be very tough against anyone without lots of experience
- Freo - well, we have seen what they did to us and to Melbourne. This will be a massive test of our ability and resolve, and the first of 2 consecutive point matches
- StK - another 8pt match against a team in our bracket

I would say 2/4 is par, given our injuries.
After that, our players should start returning.

The same. Despite our injuries, still expect us to beat the cheats but can't see us winning the other 3.

Essendon* and Richmond are the ones we should aim for.

Saints and freo especially will be extremely tough.

The next month could be brutal. Especially if we lose to the cheats.

That’s a big call, given neither player has nominated.

Yep it has become a key game.
We play 6 games vs the other 8 top 9 sides on the run home (Melbourne, Brisbane, Freo, St Kilda, Geelong and Richmond) and 5 games against the rest (Essendon*, West Coast, GWS, Collingwood and Adelaide).
Ultimately 13 wins should absolutely cement a top 8 finish. We’re still well positioned to do it but ultimately a lot comes down to how quickly we can get Harry, Weiters and Pitto back in the side. Presumably Kennedy and Martin will be fully fit post bye.

I think there will be better options available. In any event, I’m pretty sure nominations have closed.

From the looks of the vision, we lost the fight as well.

Looks like the pies ferals were jealous that the blues supporters had a full mouth of teeth and were trying to even up appearances.

I reckon we beat Essendon*, because they're just shit.
Probably drop the Tigers game.
I think Harry is due back against Freo? I would fancy more there as opposed to St Kilda actually.

Games to come which we should start favourites:
Essendon* - should be close however
Adelaide (away)
West Coast (away)
GWS (home)
Collingwood (last round - Weiters should be back)

The rest look pretty tough.

I was impressed with how Gold Coast were often able to lock the ball in their forward line against Hawthorn the other night. This seems to be a problem for us, our small forwards don't seem to be able to apply enough pressure when the ball hits the ground. It's annoying to see opposition players waltzing out of defence under minimal pressure.

Our issue in virtually all games this year has been our propensity to turn the ball over early and between the arcs. Midfield and particularly wing turnovers have killed us all season.

Turning the ball over so high up the ground is the first step to losing games of football, or by not winning by as much as you could.

I'm. Confident we'll get better.

i said if we bomb the ball into our f50 coll are to experience and would just run it out ,that is the game right there . Until we stop this crap game plan the opposition will always have a chance to beat us. We can t defend on the spread because our players to SLOW.
