Like I said .... "almost". Different eras, different times but the guys here who witnessed those days probably had similar flashbacks.
This team isn't a patch on those teams but who knows what the future holds.
Believe and commit to the task every week.

Stocker, Kennedy, Walsh, Weitering all good today

Premiership quarter. Only needed one but it was the 3rd not 2nd.

Those teams of yesteryear were so arrogant they knew one quarter was all that was needed, particularly at Princes Park.

I saw those teams live.

Dominance.

Why Carlton supporters are known as the most arrogant in the league.

Even in these not so heady days.

Thanks for your posts lads.

Did rekindle those memories for me too.

I just couldn't believe seeing goal after goal after goal in 2021.

SAign of the things we will be doing more of as the team grows in confidence and game plan.

Yeah, our defence looked a lot better with him in the team.

Was missed badly.

he's the best we've got, and he was back to top form like he was against Richmond in round 1.

Such a fair player too.

I'll add my voice to this - loved that avalanche and yes, did remind me of our Premiership Quarters.
Of course, in those days, it wasn't just the burst but we'd usually go on with it or certainly maintian the margin we'd earned. That is the next step for our boys now: take the initiative, keep it, and push on.

Sam Walsh would also like to add his voice to this but unfortunately cannot due to a fractured larynx caused by nobody according to Umpire Leigh Fisher.

I'm pretty glass half full about that win, mainly because heaps of our players had good games or at least their share of good moments.

Biggest plus was Dow & Kennedy for mine. Every weekend we need a couple of mid tier mids to have a beauty, across the reserves & seniors, & we got that yesterday. I have been a non believer with Dow but I thought that was his best game for us by far. More of that please Paddy.

Stocker looked really good having Plowman back in defense with him. I think a lot of us forget how important Plowman is for us at times.

TDK rucked well I thought, got his hands to it often & just needs to work on directing the ball, which will come with time.

3rd qtr tackling pressure was a worry, just dropped right off like we have many times beore. Luckily it wasn't fatal.

Well done to the fans who went along, sounded bloody loud on TV

It is such a pity that Jack Martin didn't slot those goals in the 2nd quarter.
We could have kicked 12.

Martin was on fire it was easily the best quarter I can think he has played.

He was, although didn't he kick 3 in a qtr against Richmond last year?

I like the bit where we won it with 10 min of football rather than lose it in that time. Roles were reversed, Adelaide played ok for alot of it, come back, and lost like we usually do. Crows haven't been too bad as they have beaten Geelong and Melbourne, only side that's done that.

That late 2nd qtr burst, haven't seen any side play like that this year. Our best is really good. We just don't see anywhere near enough of it.

We were kicking to the Heatley Stand end that quarter

Moving the ball with intent is alot harder to coach than setting players behind the ball.

That's why Lyon is such a poor choice as a coach and never won a flag - we are slowly putting a team together that has the ability to put foot on throat.

They just need to keep working.

And had a free kick paid against which resulted in a Crows goal. Utter stupidity.

Shocking decision, easily makes up for the Cripps marathon bounceless goal. Umpiring was garbage, two sets of rules, one for each team. The inconsistency was awful. Normally dont mind Razor as he is consistent at least but not on Sunday.

I see quite a few Adelaide games, and the way they've beaten the top sides is just being being harder at the contest for longer. They did that to us yesterday in many respects, and got a bunch of cheap frees as a result. But we held on and, when we got on top, we actually cashed in - something we rarely do.

It was great to see us with 7 different goal kickers and a good spread of goals from across the field:
Betts, Martin, McKay, Owies (forwards) - Cripps, Dow (Mids) - Saad, Williams (defenders).

Don’t worry I’m sure Chamberlain will ping him for a 14 metre run next week.

Thanks for bringing this up Agro.

I don't care for the excuse commentators gave for Fisher to paying Walsh the free. It was the obvious free.

The AFL Commission condones this type of violent behaviour because ??? they are afraid of dusty's dad???

His 3rd quarter in his first game for the Blues was on par: 3 goals

Happy with the endeavour we showed yesterday. That needs to be the standard going forward, not just when we feel like showing up.
Need to improve our ability to close out games when we’re ahead. Often one goal either way can be the difference between a comfortable win and a scrappy win. Up 21 at 3 quarter time yesterday and roughly the same vs Hawthorn a month ago. Need to step up and kick the first goal of the quarter and maybe the opposition will just roll over. Instead we let teams hang in and give them the belief they can steal the game. If we can step up in these key moments, we can potentially turn 2 goal wins into 5-6 goal wins

I really hope you are kidding , we aren’t building nothing, there isn’t a test we haven’t failed since last year … and our tackling is woeful

We only won 1 qtr yesterday and crows missed some easy shots … and our first qtrs for the last 2 years have been woeful

Keep it real
