This will be a good test for the club and we could safely say a test in our development this year. A tale of two sides you could say.
From the round 1 teams played, the following players will be missing due to selection unavailability:
Richmond
Higgins, Cotchin & Rance.
Carlton
Curnow, possibly Kreuzer & The Gov.

Listening to Teague's presser Gov's playing.
Teague said Govs ability to bring the ball to the ground will be crucial following McGovern and Barras' marking fest last week.

I'd think Gov would take Kennedy's place as the 3rd tall forward.

Also sounds like Kreuzer will be 1st ruck having recovered from a wear and tear injury to his hip, and his side kick will be the best 2nd ruck in the comp in Levi, "because Carlton always play 2 rucks": his words.

Jones a possibility to work with his partner Weiters, but Teague was happy with Weiters and Plows battle against Kennedy and Darling last week.

I think bigger bodies will be required in the wet, so Kennedy might be handy. The again DeLuca's speed may be needed too.

I would have loved Cuningham and Stocker to be playing in the wet.

Should be a good game.

Outs: Phillips, Schumacher & Kennedy (or Lang?)

And if Thomas is in and Jones too, then who do we drop?

If it rains we go from having a chance to almost no chance.

I watched the Melbourne vs Tigers match. Melbourne were hanging around until it rained. Then the Tigers kept playing the same level and swamped the Dees who couldn’t get near it. Tigers style and wet weather is a good combo fo them.

I don't necessarily agree we have almost no chance.
Yes, the Tigers are probably the best at the moment in the wet, but it also brings the game back to a man on man game with tackling pressure being the key.
Get in and get dirty boys.

Kennedy over Lang is the interesting one. Maybe he is injured.

Couldn't ask for more.

Jones in.

and Gov.

Gov will be chomping at the bit...in the wet.

With Thomas and Kreuzer coming in too, we've bolstered the team with experience: heaps.

No excuses.

Kennedy & Phillips victims of the ol’ team balance omission. On form alone, they could be considered a bit unlucky.

With Cunningham, Dow, Stocker, Kennedy, Phillips, Goddard, Schumacher & TDK running around the VFL - plus Charlie, Marchbank & Docherty in the stands - suddenly our depth doesn’t look too shabby.

If this weather continues, I'd bring Kennedy in and take O'Brien out. Push a bigger body like Lang or Deluca onto the wing.
Hopefully SPS has a blinder. His skills have been a feature in wet conditions.

I agree

Kennedy made for collision footy. Not so O'Brien.

Dusty and Cotchin not playing.
Not sure whether this is a good or bad thing - we have a history of squandering our opportunities against weakened opposition going right back to 1994 finals against Geelong (o think they were missing Hocking, Couch and Bairstow?).

We didn't even try to capitalize on Rance going down in Round 1.

Great news.

No Martin, Cotchin, Higgins & Rance and only Curnow out for us.

We have no excuses now.
