Cuningham and Fisher back in for Dow and Deluca.

That would be nice but Cuningham hasn't played for about 7 weeks. I'd be surprised to see him come straight back in.

Yeah, I think Cunningham should play in the curtain raiser. He has missed too much footy to come straight into the AFL side.

I would also be conservative with Kreuzer and give him another week.

Just the one change for mine - Fisher in for Dow or Deluca, or for Kennedy if his ankle isn’t right.

Kreuzer will be the interesting selection. Based on form, Phillips deserves to keep his spot. Does Kreuzer also come in or does he play VFL?
The media will make a big deal of it if he does.
I'll be very disappointed if they take the soft option and drop Phillips.

Eagles generally aren't a 4 quarter team: they seem to match the opposition for most of the game but then go balls to the wall for 15 minutes and then hold that lead for the rest of the game.

I wouldn't rush Fisher back in after illness - small body and relies on repeat efforts to spread in offence and to close in defense. It takes a few weeks to get back that kind of "high intensity" fitness, even if he's half a step too slow we're playing a man down.

SPS and Simmo will have their hands full with opposition smalls.

I'd leave Down in and give him a tagging role to get him into the game. While his possession number is low his tackle count has remained high. Will be good education for him and will hopefully negate some links in their ball-moving chain.

Our weakest links (other than ruck) are Lang and DeLuca... Cunners, Stocker (and Fisher) are the obvious subs for those but probably also underdone.

Great test for our group who are up on their confidence and seem to want to get Teague over the line.

I’m pretty sure Fisher will come straight back in and most likely for Dow.
I suspect that will be the only change.

It’s going to take some time for me to get used to expecting wins - it’s kind of stressful!!

Anyone know how Kennedy pulled up after the game?

I come from the same school of thought, following such a long lay off, however, since Andrew Russell came on board he seems to hold back players back till he has them 'cherry ripe' to play footy in the physical condition the game warrants, regardless of the grade (Seniors or 2nds)

If Cuningham has been tearing it up on the track and is up for a fitness test to determine if he's given the green light to play, I wouldn't be surprised if he plays seniors straight up.

Cuningham has switched on the light since he preseason this year and is has the hallmarks of an AFL ready player. The question will be whether the MC believes he offers more than 19yo Dow and rookie DeLuca against the Weagles on a fast track.

Cuningham has wheels suited to a fast track, let alone the body type to match the strong bodies the Eagles present.

I'd rather see Cuningham find his feet in a tagging role moreso than the out of form Dow.

Andrew Russell in his weekly "Injury Report" suggest he is a bit sore following the game, but should be right by this Thursday's final training session and should be right to play.

I'm really keen on the Blues this week.
That winning feeling has become the norm for me and many Bluebaggers.

My 11yo footy son is a footy nut, trains with the Swans Academy, and watches every game either live or before school. Has for years. Old head. He said before the Crows game it's so good to feel we have a chance to win every week since Teague took over.

I know he's only 11yo but he sees things many adults don't. He knows the opposition better than me and most of my mates. Has a good memory. He has always believed in he list, but didn't like our game style under Bolton. Called it as "too slow and predictable". That a kid talking, and heard and read the same for a long long time.

In Teague I trust.

I enjoyed having a tap ruckman last week.
Something we don't have when Kreuzer rucks.
Kreuzer brings something different.
Ground ball competition and a physical presence.

I loved the way Philips was tapping the ball to the advantage of our mids.
Cripps said the same.

I expect the match Committee to play the bigger bodied Kreuzer against the Eagles because of his physical presence and the fact he's done well in the past against Nic Nat and Lycett.

Hang on. Last week there was no Nic Nat and no Vardy.

Their ruckman last week was 201 cm ex Sun and ex Saint Tom Hickey who got smashed by Goldstein, as their 2nd ruck was 192cm forward Oscar Allen.
Both Eagles ruckmen kicked a goal against a stretched North Melb backline struggling to match Kennedy and Darling for height.

Conundrum.

Phillips must play over Kreuz after the last game. No coincidence Cripps had 19 clearances and we dominated total clearances 52 to 29 the week we had a genuine tap ruckman playing

Phillips has a habit of coming in playing well then dropping off in the following weeks
Last week he was very good but he has done this before

I wouldn't mind if Stocker came in to play on the Weagles small forwards.
He's tough and he's quick.

Rioli and Ryan are smalls with strong bodies and will need close attention.
Not sure if Simmo provides that for these 2.
SPS is good one on one, but plays a bit too offensively and off HB.

I'm sure Newman will take one and Simmo will be the extra in defence.
That leaves SPS and Newman on Rioli and Ryan, which may take SPS off HB and into a pocket.
Not sure if I want SPS stuck in a back pocket. I'm sure Simpson wont mind that.

Rioli and Ryan need close attention.

West Coast are a superb side. It’s them & the Tigers in the GF for mine, so I’ll be happy if we put in a good showing & absolutely stoked if we manage to win.

What’s the Eagles form like at Marvel?

Where is Mcgovern at…it was meant to be a 2 week course with Russell yeah?

Hope he gets up, he's been a revelation in the forward line.

Daisy in the back pocket will win any psych war against the weagles small guys.

Bring in Stocker for the other and Simmo as the free runner.

The defensive forward post against Lewis Lewis will be important.
He started a lot of their drive last week from HB and won himself a player of the week spot at HB.

Gibbons a bit short but can run all day.
SOS is smart enough and big enough but maybe not quick enough.

I'd bring in Cuningham to curb Jetta off HB.
