What position does the Club take on animal rights?

Probably the same as anyone who kicks a leather footy around.

I've never felt this way before but I think the only thing we can do is put our money where our mouth is. I've been an AFL Club Support member for about 15 years (counting me as a Carlton member) but I've sent an email to them asking how I can switch that to another club for a year, or to not be a Club Support member at all. I'll still attend, but this trainwreck of a club does not deserve any more than that.

We'll welcome you to the kennel with open arms

...and open legs?

This.

It's not the clubs decision, they should just refrain from comment. I'm sure not all staff will vote yes.

On the topic of equality, albeit not marriage-related, is there a need for separate men's and women's AFL competitions?

Or does anyone here think that one day, there won't be a need for separate competitions?

What does true equality mean?

If separate male/female sporting competitions are usually based around strength/speed/endurance, why does the military pretend that differences in these areas do not exist between genders? I stand to be corrected of course.

I support the clubs statement. Globalist agenda's should be kept out of sport.

Nice parody. "Stop telling me what to think you bullies, P.S. if you don't agree with me you're a slave to dishonesty and idiocy".

The club statement was about as bold as the team's attacking play. Sort of hinting at a Yes but not wanting to commit. Hugging boundary line, kicking long to a contest.

I agree with most here that clubs shouldn't be expected to take a stance and should have made no comment.

The only parody here is people like you; and your familiar feeble strawman attempts.

How dare my club support freedom of choice!

Sweet Jesus

What has football become

How many votes does the club get?

Outrage for the sake of it

The Blues endeavoured to support all supporters by saying vote as you see fit

Why the @#$%&! should a football club embrace one side or other of a 2 sided NON football issue

I will vote yes

I don't want my club telling me or others how to vote

I want my club focussing on football

I want my club focussing on success

I want my club engaging with supporters and supporting them to vote as the supporter chooses

Leave the petty politics to Gillian and his mates at AFL HQ.

The Age. Plumbing new depths in the name of journalism. A story that quotes 1 fans "outrage" at length, backed by a couple of tweets, then undone by just as many tweets in support of the club.

Wholeheartedly agree.

I don't get how any org. can presume to speak for the body of it's members on a personal pref. postal survey.
Now we have individuals at newspapers naming and shaming in full frontal bullying style.

I have voted. And voted yes.
Now that that's out of the way I would much prefer my club get it's drafting and free agent strategy correct!
I do understand that football is postmodernist religion, especially in Melbourne. But the various faiths and churches have managed to marginalise and persecute various groups for thousands of years. My football club just needs to stick to its core business and try to win football games. I think that the statement was good. Move on and make sure that the player they get with pick #3 plays 250 games.

Wow, it's the double whammy of "strawman" and "I know you are, but what am I?". Can't compete with that.

I vote YES, to our TC administrators deleting this thread entirely.

I actually don't really care how anyone here voted when I jump onto TC.
