Don't think Tom Williamson is getting the credit he deserves for his game, or in fact, his season.
Love his composure. Never throws the ball blindly on the boot. Always assesses the situation and takes the right option. A real gem.

Just back from the game.

It has been a long time seeing blues supporters explode around me as they did when the final siren sounded tonight. Mixture of relief and excitement. WOW.

Apart from the players mentioned, Jones's 1%s cannot really be quantified unless you are at the game to see them.

And the green shoots are sprouting.

That last quarter seemed to go forever.

Great win and glad Hodge's last memory of us will be a loss

Just home from the game, I am one very happy Carlton supporter.
Terrific win.
I have no voice.
How good was that? Our youngsters are so exciting and finally there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Good all round effort by the boys tonight, especially by lamb who really got into duckily's head making him give away 7 frees. Thought Pickett showed some great signs for the future as did some of our other young players. We played four good quarters for once and finally managed to not fade out in the last. I know Casboult likes going hard at the ball and is a good mark, but it would be good to see him not give away so many frees. Silvagni also a bit off tonight. Hopefully though they can work on some of these minor things and keep improving before next season. I have written off next week as it is against Sydney, so maybe with a few other wins our way, we can still finish low enough to get the best priority pick. Thinking long term here, because as I am always reminded "we are rebuilding".

Is Ian Aitken amongst the 1987 reunion bunch?

That's the only downside.
The win is great for what it gives the club and the players but I am hoping for a bottom two finish, just the same.
Perhaps Brisbane can do us a favour.

Screw that.

Who is this mystical player we are getting with pick 2 which is so much better than pick 4?

Ask me that again in a year.

There is no clear number 1 standout.

Also as for last year we got SPS, number 1 was McGrath, would you swap them?

Has a year gone by already?

That was a terrific win. Apart from all the positives mentioned, what I liked was our aggression towards the opposition. We stood up against Hodge and comp. and even won the little battles.
How good was it watching our youngsters not take a backward step! Awesome win and navy blue skies in 2018!

It might seem important that we finally beat the Hawthorn hoodoo after so many attempts.

It might seem important that players like Boekhurst and Pickett laid claims to the foundation of serious senior careers for the blues.

But the really important thing tonight, for the AFL and all football supporters was that Jaeger O'Meara was out there on the ground. Just the fact that he was out there ....... sorry .... getting a little choked up .... Just the fact that he was out there, ... you know playing footy. That's what it was all about tonight.

This is what the Clarkson school of coaches brings to the game. Hawthorn have lived on the cutting edge of cheating for years without ever actually crossing the line. That's where the results come, especially in the close ones.

2016 Draft Second Pick: Half-forward Tim Taranto
2016 Draft Fourth Pick: Half-forward Ben Ainsworth.
Just did the head to head stats. Almost identical seasons this year in every category.

2015 it was Schache 2 and Clayton Oliver 4.

It's all good. In SOS we trust.

Great win
Superb performance from all the team

Really gutsy performance with one less man on the bench for half the match

Great match from Docs Charlie murph

Great news about Byrne

Pickett shows us what he can be

Another good game from Weiiters

Lamb a very good antagonistic game

Great to have a win great not to get the spoon
Pick no 4 or pick no 1 who cares

Far more mentally important for the group to overcome the Hawthorn hoodoo than win a better draft pick and to Chris Scott - Carlton will win the Thouy trade.

The first five or so are all guns in the waiting.

They say Rayner is the next Dusty. Dusty wasn't a number one pick.

I'll take the win any day. This win is massive for this group. For those young lads to be the first in a dozen years to beat the Hawks cannot be underestimated.

So good.
