Very true Mick. Most of our kids had very quiet games. It highlights the good effort of our more experienced players that they could have us level in the last quarter against an in form team. Once we get consistency across the board, we'll be a far better side.
Once again the backline was fantastic and our defensive structures as a whole stood up against a team that was always going to test us with pace on the attacking side of the contest.
Kruezer was fantastic but I didn't like him lining up on a wing again. It gave the Saints the opportunity to gain the ascendancy from the first bounce at the stoppages. I also didn't like Simmo advising the defenders not to get involved when the melee was on.
Doc was great again. As was Marchbank and Rowe again performed well. ASOS was hard at it. For the forwards,SOS did his job well but I didn't like Wright playing a defensive role on Montagna. We struggle enough for goal kickers without taking them out of the play. Charlie shows glimpses. He's going to be a beauty.
Once again our experienced players were calling for the ball of Fisher when he's on his left side. FFS, have faith in the kid and win your own ball instead of sponging off the kids hard work. He's probably a better kick than the blokes who sponge off him.
Disappointing to see Daisy go backwards a bit again. After a good game last week, I was hoping he'd keep progressing. He wasn't anywhere near our worst but for an experienced player, he needs to show more on a consistent basis.
Overall, disappointing to lose but the signs are very promising.
