Terrific win. Tackled well & looked like a side that might develop into a side that is horrible to play against. We want that.

Alex Silvagni was a good inclusion

Great to see Simpson bounce back from that dropped mark early & put together a good game.

What about the free to Isaac Heeny in the 2nd quarter :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

After enduring the pain of the Port game, went along to see "green shoots". Sure we have our moments, but it was great to see us lift and respond. How many times in recent years have we seen a game like this end in 10 goal loss?

What I really like is the way the boys stand up for each other. Too often we saw our blokes smashed with no one flying the flag.
And Charlie. For mine, he seems to have a smudge of arrogance, a touch of mongrel and a hell of a lot of X factor. Gee it's going to be fun watch him develop.

What impresses me at the moment is the amount of quality passages of play. While there are going to be ups and downs this year in consistency because of youth, it's the emergence of players such as Williamson, Petrevski-Seton, Marchbank etc that's outstanding.

The other aspect of the game was that we won because we had greater skill, teamwork and commitment to each contest. It feels like the first time in years that we won a match without having to drag the opposition down to our level.

Clearly they've been given scope to use their flair and instincts, and hats off to Bolton for the approach he's taking with development.

I'm back in New Orleans on holiday and my local bar here went to great lengths to try and find a live feed for me to watch it (started at 11pm here)

Finally they managed to get one and I was too jet lagged and said "ahhh forget it, I'm gonna go to bed - we won't win anyway!"

Woke up this morning............saw the news.......What - a - Dick!!!!!!

Can't believe I missed that.

I thought we wouldn't win another game for the year. So glad for the boys. Hopefully it will steel the young boys to work hard in the off season and make them hungry for success.

The RooTsy commentary that went with it was right up there!

I need to pull you up on the bit about us dragging down others to our level in order to win.
We could never go down as low as the Cult FC. They tried to drag us down but they did not succeed.
Agree with the rest of your post.

This is what I thought before the game: quote from Pregame thread...

Quote:
I am more confident of our chances since the selections were announced.

They haven't got the usual strong forwardline other than Buddy
Their backline has been hampered and Jack (isn't 100%)
McVeigh Reid and Rampe are the missing stars. They will miss Alir's drive at CHB and Grundy copped a bad head knock is missing.
Like us they have 6 young ones playing.

Their midfield have been rating well in Fantasy scores, but are not influencing games.
Swans insider (player mentor) told me Hannaberry and Parker are sore and not playing with confidence

I guess our players are carrying sore spots into the game too.

Which part of the ground will depend on who wins the midfield battle and forward pressure to ep the ball away from opposition's forwardline.

Kreuzer vs Tippett

Cripps vs Kennedy
Curnow vs Hannebury (isn't 100%)
Graham vs Parker (isn't 100%)
Gibbs vs Heeney
Murphy vs Lloyd

Anything can happen. I think we can give them a scare

They said he'd never make it....to those whose said he'd make it, this one here's for you

SILVAGNI

Have a look at the stats and scalps from Rowe White and Silvagni.

I'm going to our local footy club to collect from all those Cocky Swans supporters.

Mmm, kinda makes me feel like a beer? :)

Out of the country ATM
I was at a sports bar with a feed that was dropping out... Would get about a minute, usually see a snippet but notice we were scoring and ahead.
Fortunately saw most of the last, so got a chance to enjoy....

Saw snippets of the Foxtel summary afterwards.... Like others, when they talked about a serious injury and showed the Rowe/Rohan clash, I assumed it was Rowe who copped the injury... Lucky on both counts there... But Rohan was clearly negligent.

Finally watched the 'highlights' on the AFL... Going by those, seemed Swans and Buddy had blinders... Neither of which happened.

Loved the Silvagni spanking highlights on the CFC site today though!

Good luck to anyone trying to point out Rohan's carelessness on talkback or in general conversation.

Another week where we win, but the media either ignores it, or pays more attention to the team we beat.
The media pundits like Barrett and Browne who questiobed Bolts and dissed our side after last week can suck a massive fart!!!

I knew we were gonna win the moment I saw the great man Simon Wiggins and his family entering the ground.

The media are pathetic when it comes to Carlton.
Cripps was on channel 9 footy show this morning but all that moron Kane Cornes could ask was if Cripps would consider going back to WA in the future.
I am so sick of it.
