As painful as it is to watch, I'm really glad that Bolton is sticking to the plan.

We need to play all our older players to work out who stays and who goes at the end of the year. You can't teach kids by just throwing them out against men and have a chat to them during the quarter time breaks on what they are doing wrong.

I think Bolton is assessing who he can trust to teach the kids, as they come through, the game style that he wants them to play and follow the team rules during the game.

Our forward line is our biggest issue for 2 reasons, firstly because our lack of talent, but also because our lack of leaders. We have Doc and Simmo in the back half, Murphy & Gibbs in the middle, but no-one up forward.

Without someone directing traffic up forward, time after time we are bombing it to a pack of Casbolt, the resting ruck and Everitt / Walker. Silvagni impresses me in that he does not get sucked into the pack, but makes space for himself and his teammates, and considering that all our hopeful forwards are 1st year players, perhaps he may be the one to direct the forward line in the same way his old man did the back line in the future.

Oops. Sorry. I stand corrected. THATS the silliest post I've seen in a while. Results (not that results are the best way to judge improvement by the way) actually do show we have improved. You could have reasonably argued probably anything else except results. Haha.

Seriously though. Stay calm and judge the boys mid next season when the game plan is embedded in their heads after two pres seasons and this years draft class have a few games under their belt. We will be ok. It's a steady climb not a spike.

I have been hearing next season for 16 years or more.
You talk about me writing silly posts.
Its always next season

I hear that we're rebuilding everything about the club (except the board, because they're all irreplaceable) and it will fix everything, don't know why we never tried this in the last 15 years....

Can't wait to see the results of the rebuild next year, or is it the year after, or is it this year........

My interest in this season took a hit at the loss to St Kilda, then the bye happened and now I find that I look at the AFL website on Monday morning and realise that we actually played a game on the weekend. I somehow think I'm not the only one who is like that either.

Slowly but surely, I too find myself dropping off. I find the lack of skill too frustrating and now that I no longer attend games the temptation to go do something else too great.

I've even started following local footy.

it will take us to have chance of winning another flag I don't want to see
any more of trading for tried player who struggle at other club at our club
all it does is sets us back

I'm dead-set against trading Gibbs and have argued against it in the past, but I've never seen anyone float the idea of trading Cripps. What on earth? The idea of loading up on draft picks is that you may uncover a few guns that will carry the club for the next decade. In Cripps, we already have that. So what would possess you to trade him? You'd be taking a big gamble and yet the best case scenario is you end up with someone of similar quality.

Yeah but if we trade Cripps we can get a young player in. He'll be 30 soon

To put into context Carlton's performance yesterday:

Adrian Polykandrites ‏@NABFW

Fourth-quarter points conceded by Adelaide the past 5 weeks: 10, 0, 7, 9, 9

Absolutely. A 30 year-old 6 foot 8, plodding centreman whose only trick is third-man-up in the ruck.

Sakc! And while we're at it, play all Carlton-Collingwood games at Princes(s) Park.

Let's show the bastards!!!!!

That's an amazing stat. Coupled with their scoring potency (apparently averaging 30 scoring shots per game), no wonder they're flying.

I didn't think Bolton had his best day yesterday. They constantly had a spare player in defense and we would always fall in to the trap of kicking it to an out numbered contest. He admitted that he was aware of this in the press conference when a reporter asked why he chose not to man up Rory Laird, he claimed he didn't want it to effect our other structures. I can understand if you start a game this was, but clearly it wasn't working for us and we needed to recognize this and make some changes.

You just blew 80% of TC members minds. They are currently staring at their computers muttering "what?"
