Grigg wanted to go because Richmond gave him an extra 100,000 reasons to do so.

Two points to add re Grigg:

- He was in or very near our best 22 and playing good footy when he left us...we developed him ok enough; and

- We were in a poor bargaining position when he left us - out of contract and Tiggs bottom or near enough. Why do so many forget this!! He could have walked to them for SFA in PSD. IMHO, we were lucky to get anything for him and Collins was looking a handy prospect at that stage.

Look it's not THAT bad

Here's a side based on players currently on the list aged 27 or under. Note I only have 4 players around 26/27 - Gibbs, Everitt and White , the first two whom look to me to durable types and the latter are survivors.

Assumes we get Weitering and Carlisle. The latter is less likely than the former.

Assumes Yarran leaves but Kreuzer, Bell and Menzel stay.

Assumes we get Carlisle via PSD.

Of course all this is guess work. lots of assumptions. So things will change.

But we can field a side with players 27 or under. So no Judd, Murphy, Carrazzo, Simpson, Jamison, Warnock, Thomas etc.
