Carlton win inherited a premiership side,
Carlton lose super duper coach, daisy 700k, goes round the boundary, players lost confidence, where's the development, judd2013=judd2008

Under ratten

Carlton win great game plan, all run forward of the ball, development of Joseph and Davies, Jordan Russell
Carlton lose injuries, improved us every year

You forgot to mention that when Port win it is due to the genius of Primus who set the team up for Hinkley to walk in and take all the credit.

Whereas Ratten clearly sabotaged Mick's glorious exit from the footy world and prevented him from full filling his long held dream of coaching 9 premiership teams.

The more we can all do as football supporters to help Port move up the ladder the better for the competition. We can all play our part. Well done Port. It is such a great story and it is exciting seeing a full Adelaide Oval at all their home matches.

Port's revenue is about 40 million with the recent Vlad hand out of 3 million per year for three years.
They still don't come near our annual revenue of 57 million.
And their football department spend 14 million - about 8 million dollars less than Carlton's.

Afl handouts for Port have been minimal since they entered the competition. The Afl has only stepped in once in a major way to give them 9 million in 3 years, and that was in 2012 when they got into big trouble on and off the field.

Port has managed 55,000 members though.

I hope that you aren't suggesting that Port suddenly sprang up the ladder in 2013 just because Vlad gave them 3 million dollars?

If we want to look at handouts and leg ups for any AFL team i think we all know which soft drink team we are talking back

seriously Cret, do you support Port Adelaide???

or are you Ken Hinckley?

Cretyus, what is the "soft drink team" you are referring to?

Re: your other points....obviously you are a huge admirer of Port and what they have achieved. That is your perogative. Frankly, I am sick and tired of "admiring" other teams that all get leg-ups from the AFL.

Your points largely relate to "revenue" which surprise, surprise is the same way the AFL cuts up figures to make sure Carlton puts money into "equalisation". Why not ignore revenue and instead look at accumulated debt, or profit/loss....naah, that wouldn't help the AFL in diverting funds from Carlton to other clubs such as Port Adelaide.

Carlton has made a loss this year and has accumulated debt of over 5 million...why is Carlton helping out Port Adelaide on these grounds?

Well that doesn't suit our argument so let's go to revenue instead.

Vlad, by the way, didn't just give Port 3 million...it is well over 12 million. Is it your suggestion that that this money wouldn't have helped in Port's climb up the ladder? If so, shouldn't they hand it back, preferably to Carlton so the Blues can pay off its debt.

Nah, you need me and Doc and Missnaut there for that. That's what got us over the line and unfortunately Doc's on his Neverending 2014 US Craft Beer Extravaganza Tour this time, I can't be bothered, and I'm not sure what Naut is doing......

So no win this year!!!! :-(

Carlton star Dale Thomas has escaped serious injury to his reconstructed right ankle, and even remains in the frame to play against Port Adelaide on Friday night.

Small forward Troy Menzel has escaped a serious shoulder injury but has a sore AC joint. He will also need to pass a fitness test.

Midfielder Brock McLean, a late withdrawal on Friday night after pulling up sore in the warm-up, has a minor calf strain and has been ruled out for this week.

David Ellard will miss the rest of the season after severely straining his right ankle. He does not require surgery but will initially wear a moon boot.

Well that's a relief. Early whisper was 3 months for Menz.

Doc Larkins said on Sunday Night footy that media reports of Daisy injuring his right ankle were wrong and that the injury was to his left ankle - not the one previously injured. Is Larkin or Pierik right? Either way we should be taking an extremely cautious approach to who plays the last two rounds. We don't want players underdone for pre-season next year like what happened this year.

Seasons over. More important now they are ready for the pre season.

Give some others like Watson, Holman, Lucas, Garlett a run to see if they have any hope at all. Nothing to lose.

Thomas is lucky....imagine twisting your ankle like that just so you can fall into Stoke's back. Daisy should've been reported also. Umps will have to save it for next time

Lucas isn't the future, give kids a game who deserve the chance. Holman has been in good form, Cripps can be a sub.

Garlett would be a logical replacement for Ellard.

Watson for who?

Last flings are for champions/legends, not players who failed to make it at our club.
