Lets put this in perspective, it is not like he has been jabbing himself with performance enhancing drugs!

It's that attitude that makes us an ordinary club.

We are talking about a player who's form is as bad as it's ever been and can't break into a bottom 8 side. The other is serving his second suspension for the year.

They are both out until 5am during the season and get into fight.

Not only that they then both lie about the what happened and who was there!

Do some of you people seriously believe it's not a big deal??? Maybe you don't understand how culture and standards are important in the Professional sporting team.

The issue for me now is how we deal with it. McKay said it won't be tolerated and both have been fined. Surely for the good of the club more has to happen and there has to be serious consequences.

This type of behaviour cannot be condoned at any level.

I am hearing that there was another player as well yet to be named.

Robbo is a product of the Hughes era of poor talent identification.

No elite AFL skills or 'tricks' or decision making .... just a good BUSH LEAGUE or suburban league player who goes hard at the contest.

Go to your local league match and you'll see a dozen Robbo's running around.

He's done well getting half a dozen years on an AFL list and if another AFL club is interested in him good luck to him.

If there was more players I'm very disappointed that the boys didn't win the fight.

KB having a great time hanging it on Carlton, suggesting that we should not be able to be part of the opening game of the season. Tongue in cheek of course.

Do people still listen to that Peanut??

Let me guess, Carlton are in major trouble, place is a debacle and Richmond are on track for a Premiership.

If I'm right it's the same stuff he has been saying for 30 years to illicit a reaction and people still fall for it.

One of the few who has not been cowardly regarding a stance on the Bombers.

Seems like the only reason this came to light was that a late night outing with the boy(s) turned into a hospitalisation which was then required to be reported. It does beg the question about how often it happens without an incident arising or it being picked up by the club.

Also, if the club or players have agreed policies around in-season curfews and behaviors that instill an expectation that this isnt to be tolerated then it would mean there is a more fundamental problem at the club. (especially if there are even more players involved). But, if these policies are more like soft warnings which the players take it upon themselves to interpret right from wrong, then I can't see why we should be blaming the players.

(it might just be a sporadic incident that these two knew that for them, their papers have been served and that they couldn't give a stuff. Mad Monday has started early for them!)

The bigger problem for me is how CFC handle these types of things. Its seems that they have now taken up this open disclosure approach to putting everything out there without really thinking through the consequences. The way this been handled in the public eye, it's going to be difficult for the football department to gain anything of benefit from it.

Personally, I think there is a bit too much dirty laundry around this (about what happened, who lied, the potential that other players may be involved ) that it looks like the truth is unravelling before us and the club at the same time. The club should have had strict internal processes to deal with it without having to tell the world about it until is has control over the situation. Sure there are examples to be set for younger players but can't they be set within the club without the media hype blowing this out into something that is now too difficult to contain.

You can say all you like about it being a public interest story and that the members have a right to know, but as with any strong governing organisation, the administration should be 1 or 2 steps ahead about the expected outcome and the message that is received by the public that we know the extent of the problem, we have a plan to sort it out and we have it in control.

I reckon this says more about how:
- we set role models and examples of acceptable player behaviour
- we manage these types of issues internally as a club
- our foresight into dealing with good and bad messages
- we manage our public relations

Yarran was hanging with Syd Jackson on Saturday with Gibbs & Kreuz. But he may have gone out after..
