Anybody that thinks Laidler is what we need has rocks in their head.

Hes a hbfer.. theyre not that important in the way the game is played today.
Whether he is playing or not makes no difference ... just a spot... could be him or white or McKiness..
Swans lost Everitt and took Laidler...
id prefer Everitt in our set up...

Hinkley is lucky he took on Port... if he had of taken us on he wouldnt be the career coach he now seems to be heading for....
Anybody coming into our system now .. would wanna know hes going to get 4 years on his contract.

Cretylus is like those guys comparing us to Geelong 3 years ago....
Except its Port the flavour of the month....

Port have a pretty impressive list of young up and comers.

We have nothing...

The Saints game looms as the Peter Wright Cup. If we win it I'LL SPEW

We are crapola of the highest order. Sure we can't get rid of them all, but we can rid ourselves of the types that have killed us for years now, the turnover kings and the plodders. So we must cull Walker, Brock the very slow Rock and Carrots. All have had their time, and all will never get us to where we want to go.

Of course we have huge problems with Lucas, Garlett, and Watto as they are fragile soft c#cks, so at least one of the must go too.

Should have traded Kreuzer and Yarran for Boyd when we had the chance, but that moment has passed us by. Kruez has little currency now as he's a crock, and also a one trick pony as can't play forward.

We desperately need a monster up Fwd who can clunk marks and also kick, so Peter Wright is a good place to start. The rest must be speedy midfielders who can also kick. We are so slow across the ground and so unskilled it's not funny.

On the coaching front, we could do worse than throw a truckload of cash at Lingy as an assistant coach. Huge wraps on him and we don't have a successor to Mick on the current panel ( sorry Laids). And please please can we get rid of Barks ?? Since when he has he ever shown he's any good at all. Hawks got rid of him as they knew he was hopeless......why can' t Mick see that ???

Gibberish again.

Your mate Mick took on the gig to prove a point to Eddie and for the cash. Then he used his position to see off a decent player who will play finals this year so he could get his little buddy over to earn some big bucks tagging in the forward line.

You are going Synbad. You have rose coloured glasses on when it comes these Collingwood blokes. Normally you would be first onto these sort blokes taking the club for a ride.
I know they aren't considered heroes by carlton people and those types are your usual targets but this is plainly obvious.

Go get em !!!

Back to the "hope" that a top 5 draft pick will solve all Carlton's problems. Doesn't work that way if Carlton's recruiting record is shiter than a 20 ton bundle of shite. I really didn't find the GWS loss painful at all, as I have accepted that for many years Carlton will be down the bottom of the ladder.

One thing I would like to change though is Jarrad Waite. I know they need a tall forward - but Waite is not it. The antics, the half attempts, playing for free kicks, the missed tackles, the missed shots at goal after Yarran busted his guts to get the ball to the forward line.

But why single out Waite? There is so much dead wood at Carlton you could run a fireplace for a month or two. Where to begin?

What makes matters worse is that the AFL appears to take the club for granted - hence the $300,000 bill they have sent the Blues so that they can help to prop up clubs they really care about such as North & Brisbane. All the violins are out now for Brisbane because they kicked 1 goal in a half.

I would gladly accept that if it goes along with a gift wrapped 3 premierships (2001, 2002 & 2003) as well via $800,000 salary cap concessions. Watch the AFL help Brisbane now...where is the help or concern for Carlton? I don't see it, I don't see the debt assistance, I don't see expertise assistance from the AFL...I guess because Carlton is doing just fine.

[SSPOE-6773449867-CFC6]

yes Mr S was so impressed with the upcoming young stars at Port that the only player he wanted carlton to chase from their list was the aging Cornes (who is a good player incidentally)

Meanwhile ladies and gentlemen, the cats had sent out Selwood and Bartel to speak to Oli Wines to try to get him back to Victoria (a player who is an elite midfielder already)

yes ladies and gentlemen, the year was 2012 and Port was drowning with NOBODy in Australia rating their list in terms of quality.

Nobody wanted to coach them except the desperate - Hinkley, Ratten and Eade. Described as a coaching graveyard in the short to medium term. Vlad even flew up there and gave them welfare hand out to the tune of 9 million dollars over 3 years. Only Wines was talked about being poached to Victoria, (and Mr S's Cornes of course)

The Blues spend about 21 million dollars on the footy department - up there with the highest funded departments in the league. Ports spends about 14 million. Revenue for the Blues is 57 million, Port is about 39 million.

Hinkley paid in the bottom 3, Mick paid in the top 3.

And then comes Wingard - a cross between Ablett senior and Wayne Jonhston. Even the hawks couldnt knock him out, with Hodge raising his elbow a few times.

But it seems that only ONE player and team in the League was able to counter the Wingard factor.

Mr Laidler ladies and gentlemen. Laidler showed the competition how to counter Wingard. Hasnt had influence on the game since. Swans by the way won by a kick. Well done Laidler

Meanwhile at Princes Park, we cant get the basics right week in week out. Contested ball, tackling, workrate, leadership, discipline

Yes Ladies and gentlemen, we must worship Daisy, Docherty and Everritt - they can do no wrong - we must build a premiership around them hiding in the pockets and on the wings. But Betts, Murphy and Laidler cant play

Yes but we have a PROCESS - a process that noone knows anything about.

A SECRET PROCESS devised by the master coach

Its a Carlton disease...

Now... prove we would have won with the super tackler and finisher Murphy in the side.
simple....

I know what my eyes have told me over Murphys 8 years at the club.. he doesnt tackle anywhere near Thomas does.

Of course were talking over a career and not a game....

But how much do you want that ticket around the world Cimm?
How about $5000 in cash...

Lets talk about today Synbad.

Nobody can prove anything, but my eyes told me
the ball came out of the forwardline very easily. Eddie and Jeffy used to hold it in pretty well.
Thomas could not make a metre when chasing.
Thomas missed tackles.
We played very poorly.
Murphs 25+ possessions would have been worth a kick and a half.

Did I miss anything?

The work rate of the last month or so wasn't there. Why not.

That's not a talent issue.

you also mentioned a clean out of the coaching staff. Their Micks coaches surely. There's no reason he has to put up with donkeys, that's in his control.

srry.. thats too ludicrous to win $5000 for spinning shit.... its fanciful and something thats going on in your head.. when u were a kid did u make that cheering noises as you counted down the gameclock of the game you were playing out in your mind and snapped a winner on the siren to win the flag??.. and then gave a crowd cheer... ???

you did didnt you...???

now if you had of said Selwood or Hodge i would have no comeback... but you used a guy who has been criticised time and time again in the media for his defensive softness as your example...
a guy who by YOUR VERY OWN admission couldnt have been soft today because he didnt play....

You are losing your mind.

There are tackles and there are tackles.

Leadership, where was it without Murph?

Who played well?

Murph plays we win.

It's an opinion but he either gets his share of quality disposals or he gets a the hard tag and everyone else gets an easier time.

Dale, yeah, back to the fold. Wasn't the worst but failed to lead when we needed.

Murph was missed.

It's a pity you can't even acknowledge that .

Couldn't believe the stat I heard today that the giants, with their 17yo mini draft picks included, have 27 first round draft picks on their list. Twenty flowering seven. Out of 40. That is just ludicrous.
how will any side compete with that in 3 or 4 years? What were the afl thinking? Did they do their homework?

27 first round picks out of 40. Even if half were no good they'd still be a super side.

On top of that, that's also 27 first rounders denied to the bottom clubs who need hope.

WOW

I have been saying this for years about the new expansion clubs. The AFL and more particularly the big D feathering their own nests to the determent of the clubs that have been around for more than 100 years. Did we really need a GWS or Gold Coast?? Nope.

Anybody notice Judd get rotated off the ground when there was 3 minutes to go?

That seemed quite bizarre given the state of the game.

Forget about the GWS concessions, yes they will be very good. But here and now we put in a limp performance against a bottom side. And we have had a heap of first and second round picks over the last ten years and are back where we started. Enough of the excuses, if not the umpires, its a short pre season, its the draft, its luck, everything except the coach. No excuses! Richmond beat this mob by 20 goals. There are no excuses.

I know it looked impossible to win with 40seconds left and needing two goals but you never know. Instead we have Levi in the ruck and Menz & Yazz on the bench. That's tanking if I've ever seen it. Judd took himself off with 2 minutes left and didn't return.

Thank god Brock looks injured. For a player who has openly said in 2 interviews in the last month that he is not enjoying football it is an embarrassment he is still getting a game. Forget the fact he is in the leadership group.

If we take peter wright in the draft we might as well hand the keys back to the afl!!

Great venue the Giants have; good public transport and some atmosphere even with not many there

Poor decision to have Armfield as the sub. We needed his two way running ... the signs were there early. I walked away early today. Could see what was coming.

MM said in his press conference that we lacked run ... well bright spark couldn't you see that a side without Murphy, Buckley and Gartlett was going to lack zip and that not having Armfield in was going to make that worse.

MM also said that he can't work out the lack of intensity against the lower teams ... from where I sit this comes about when we make outlandish statements like "we can go all the way" ... "we are not far off top 4". So we push ourselves against the big boys because we think we belong in their part of town ... but then get disappointed when we look at the fixture "oh, shit we only have GWS this week.

MM talked about "first touch" comparison of us and GWS ... how many of our players that we have recruited have a good "first point of contact" with the ball.

I said it after we won the 1999 prelim and again when we won that elimination final in 2013 ... that we get carried away with where we really belong in this football world.

Our club is too shit frightened to get a Hinkley or a Scott etc ... new eras are never built by old coaches. We wouldn't dare entertain the thought of getting the List Manager from say North Melbourne ... we would rather get someone else from a club that has had 27 first round draft picks.
