Rowe's best game for Carlton as far as I can recall.

Warnock had one of his best games last week, but I would love his paypacket for what he produces, which isn't a whole lot.

Nice to see Menzel start the match proper.

Rowe was very good, consistently beat his man
I agree best game of his short career :gift:

Walker is no good back, play him forward and drop Garlett
Hendo struggled, that's twice I seen him live at the ground where he has been very ordinary
1st qtr was 19 I50 to 8 and we kicked 2 goals 6 - plenty to work on....

Premiership favourites after that. It's all good we beat St Kilda. No worries at all.

Not a big Army fan, but his pace does add an extra dimension and tonight he hit a few good targets
Overall Good game tonight

I've changed my mind, Murphy might get a week.

Pros:
8.0 2nd quarter
Overall aggression
Yarran continuing his brilliant patch with some classic yazzamatazz
Gibbs rejuvenated
Menzel and Docherty fantastic
Simmo everywhere
Armfield's frantic run - looks to have his legs back
Everitt another great shutdown
Rowe still performing
Murph's bump on Hriiiiiiiievoldt
Warnock getting more involved
Casboult's marking
A week off to set ourselvess for an inconsistent Adelaide

Cons:
3rd quarter throwaway and lapses at the end of the 4th quarter
Poor conversion in the 1st quarter
Hendo another down game
Walker lost at sea
Cabsoult's kicking
Thommo's still trying to find his feet (pun intended). Minor con coz I'm not expecting much yet
Warnock zero marks
A week to wait to see if we can continue some form

St Kilda are as bad as any side in the comp and a lot younger than us.

False.

0-49 games:
Carlton 29 St Kilda 35

50-99 games:
Carlton 10 St Kilda 5

100-149 games:
Carlton 4 St Kilda 3

150+ games:
Carlton 9 St Kilda 10

Average player games:
Carlton 62 St Kilda 62

There's not enough in it to say "a lot younger" unless you're talking about age and not experience.

But wait...

2014 average age:

Carlton 24.52 St Kilda 24.22

Gee that 4 months is telling...

Pros:

Enjoyed the aggression at the opposition.
Simmo and Gibbs.
Yarran, Menzel and Docherty.
Rowe.
Armfield. Reckon we look a much better side with him in the team. Started to actually look quick as a team again. Amazing what difference a couple of speedsters (like Buckley, Docherty and Armfield) into the 22 makes.

Cons:

The last 5 minutes.
No goals from our key position forwards (even though Casboult got pretty close on occasion).
A lot of umpire assisted goals to the opposition.
A couple of very poor marking efforts from Murphy and Garlett.
Are we hiding Thomas at the moment?
Walker's form hasn't been fantastic.

Very Ordinary Performance, Worthy of a 14th ranked side....Apart from the last 15 min of the 2nd Quarter, we played the type of footy we been playing all year: Clanger Kings, Missing easy shots on Goal, Turning the ball over, going sideways, backwards and more sideways because we had no target to kick to and the rest of it... Both teams played School kids footy and both deserve to stay at the lower end of the ladder.

I hope we get Judd, Waite, Carrazo and few more back after the BYE.....

Found the commentary barracking really annoying again. Gerard at least has the excuse of having grown up barracking for the Saints. Not sure what Dunstall's excuse is. Every time we have him, he seems to barrack for the opposition.

A wins a win, but only really played 1 and half qtrs of good footy.
Menzel. Buckley, Docherty all look the goods.
Rowe and White in the best form of their careers at Carlton.
Levi is starting to look more confident, but just needs to convert his kicks at goal.
Gibbs decided to get his hands dirty tonight. Hope that's a sign of things to come.
Mick has helped the penny drop for Yazz.
Warnock much improved since the Dees game
Everit been another good puck up by Mick.

Let's see how we go against the Crows and Eddie in a few weeks time with Judd, Waite and Carrots back in the side.

Pros:
Casboult had by far his best all round game so far. Great field kicking and one poster and one touched 3/4 of the way past the line is a lot better than we're used to.
Menzell, Buckley, Docherty and Everitt all played well. Menzell will be a gun. Buckley's handballs are flat and quick.
Simmo was in everything and everywhere at once. 46 possies isn't a bad night's work and he only mucked up a couple.
Robbo had one fumble, which caused Sugarcane to get stuck into BG72. He played a great game and when the going was hard in the third, was one of the few who contributed. His field kicking tonight was really good and he set up Garlett's GOTY with a slick handball. Why people don't have him in the best 22 amazes me. He will be second picked next week after Simpson.
Yarran's run down the middle was sublime and the finish a joy.
Rowe is settling in down back. He ahd Jamo did OK on Reiwoldt, who is in pretty good form.
Gibbs was more down and dirty tonight and played another good game.
McLean is a machine. For all his faults he is a clearance monster and finds space where there is none.
Warnock is maintaining a standard I didn't think he had in him as far as his ruck work is concerned but he is as slow as a glacier and his kicking is just awful. Good on him. he is giving our mids a chance at the clearances.
We won playing quite a few ids and without some of our established big name players. A win is a win, especially playing the kids.
Cons:
Lapses at the end of quarters.
Panicking when the other team gets going. Having a youngish side down back doesn't help that. Rowe, White, Touhy and Buckley don't have a lot of experience. if they can keep the back six relatively stable, the panicking will get less.
Missed some sitters in the first.
Played a short burst in the first, most of the second and half the last. It was enough to win but we need to play 4 quarters.
Thomas.
Hendo is having a bad patch but we know he will get over it.

General comment with our scoring. Appears we kicks our goals in bursts and then go long periods where we really struggle and don't look like scoring. Even in our wins.

Lack of system? Strong key forwards? Effort? Game plan? Confidence?

Whatever it is, needs to be addressed. Will get severely exposed against the better sides, which for us at the moment is most of the league sadly.

Was a really strange game.

We kicked two goals in the first two minutes and then just 6 behinds for the rest of the quarter.
They kicked 2 goals in the first three minutes of the third quarter and then 7 behinds for the rest of the quarter.
Went for about 12 minutes in the third quarter when neither team scored anything.

It was a borefest punctuated by a thoroughly entertaining 8 goal second quarter.

There were some good signs up forward and on the whole our defenders did a good job of keeping the Sook quiet.
