Verbs you are Wrong. It was confirmed by Swann during his interview with KB on SEN. Swann sounded a bit peeved and described it as unusual.

Swan wouldnt know how to run a football club.....

You are being very unfair on Swann.....

Swann will provide Gibbs with a blueprint for the future, but it won't be blue, it will be black and white

Under the current rules, what would we get for Gibbs if he walked as a free agent? Would we get a top 10 pick?

For those who are keen followers of the junior footy....what are the early predictions re the depth of this years draft?
Is this years top 10 considered any better/worse than last years top 10?
For me a top 10 compo pick would be very hard to resist. We are not winning flags any time soon. Let him go and reload.

From what I am told by random people who think they know everything is that this years draft has a few top 10 key forwards.

ok so what's the market rate for a gibbs type player say 650k-750 over 4 years, and if betts got 500 then gibbs will get that I assume in the open market.

What would Carlton have to offer to satisfy the masses here ? also what would we get if he left , Top 10 after our pick

me personally 600k would satisfy me but I reckon gibbs will leave if he is offered that.

Why keep him? Simply Why?

A first round pick and salary cap space is much more beneficial to us as we stand than giving him a long term high dollar contract.

This isn't about Bryce it's about the CFC and it's future.

I thought when we picked gibbs up he turn out to be nathan buckly type with height and size.I was totally wrong he has not got the strength, aerobic ability, but he does kick and use the ball well.Time has come to say good bye and get a compo pick or what ever deals we can make.Lets see how good swan is now.

We could have 5 picks in the top 10 and still only end up with a VFL half back line.

Why keep him?
Because he is highly talented, and valuable member of our team.
He is one of the foundation stones, and even if we rebuild, I'd expect and hope to see Murph and gibbs holding up the trophy.
He can help develop the newer kids too.
He is not the problem.
There are so many player we need to let go. I'd bundle them up and swap them for 1 or two fresh new kids instead.

He's in his prime. He won't get any better. It's just more mediocre thinking.

Let him go and hope he gets us a pick behind our 1st pick. Or trade him for Dangerfield!

..he would get band 1 compo, the highest.. ..which is a pick directly after your first pick.. ..it is based upon ladder finish..

The word for a while has been there will be no compensation for losing free agents this season. If that happens, then keep in mind we've been at the forefront of arguing for the change

if they scrap compo picks the AFLPA said it will only be for UNRESTRICTED free agents this year. They want to see the impact before they scrap restricted free agent compo.

Precious Bryce is waiting to see how much midfield time he will get this year. The crows have promised him he will play on ball with them.

What makes that "precious"?

Because he plays where the coach instructs him to play
He plays which ever position is best for the 'team'

I witnessed Bryce shirk the contest on three occasions on Thursday night. Yes he doesn't have to crash into every contest but sometimes you just need to go when it's your turn to go and he doesn't do that for the team but stands around with head band watching all his mates cop the hits
