Don't listen to Synners on this one....David Buttifant is one of the best in the business. Ask anyone and you'll get the same answer. Prior to Collingwood, he worked on getting athletes fit for the Sydney Olympics. But more importantly - this is an industry where people are sharing information all the time. It's evolving and even in 2013, David Buttifant is still at the forefront of his craft.

Re: Wouldn't let him leave? How do you prevent an employee from leaving? Don't know about his relationship with Bucks, but Nathan Buckley is generally a pretty easy guy to get on with - so wouldn't have thought a problem. We do know he's close to MM. Makes sense that he'd want a change of environment. Been working at the same place for 13 years. Bucks might have some other ideas re: training loads. I know that Buttifant believes there's a certain way this needs to be managed.

Our boys could do with a fresh face in this area too. Cordy has been there since November 2007. It's all good. This really isn't something we should be worrying about. I'm just hoping he signs with Carlton.

Synbad you are so rusted on with your views....... You are making a rod for your own back old boy. You are desperately trying to make every but of news ,rumour innuendo, fit your own agenda. Its blindingly obvious and quite frankly tiresome. Try being constructive for once.

Constructive is not Xeroxing Collingwood.
How am i rusted on when everything we do is rusted onto whatever Collingwood have?
I think youre the one rusted on.....
Who cares what you think padre?...
Who cares what i think?
But ill still call it as i see it!!!..
Whats tiresome of a bottomless pit of a lack of ideas.....

You might think its fantastic to get everyone over from Collingwood... i dont!!!...
ext we will have Didak brought over as the dedicated sub... and youll be teling me im "rusted on"

Taking everything from Collingwood and thats our answer isnt initiative.. sorry!!!

I am referring to your incessant, predictable bagging of EVERYTHING that the current management try to do. You have absolutely no evidence that Buttifant is a dud yet you assert that he is JUST BECAUSE he is being appointed by the current management ( and he is ex collingwood)
Malthouse has been doing great things in many peoples opinions, mine included, yet you give no credit to the current admin for his appointment. OK you may think the jury is still out on MM and you would not be alone, but to be ranting on the way you have been , you would think that MM had been an abject failure and it could not be disputed that he was a bad choice. Ffs the season is not even over.

It appears to me that you have taken a very early position on the incompetence of the board/ sticks and you are sticking to it even though there are now early signs that you could be wrong. You are rusted on to your opinion and you cant let go.a wise man once said, " A man who cannot..." .......Nah you would never get it.

It doesnt matter what youre referring to .
We caught a wave... GREAT!!! noone is happier than i am.
but the club is [REDACTED]!!!.. i know its an opportune time for you to pretend that all is great at the ranch padre.
HOWEVER.. we have 45,000 members a huge debt.. our club is run on the shoestring..and DONT you think that this run were having (AND I HOPE ITS A FLAG!!!!).. is going to wallpaper how pathetic we are.How lacking in ideas.. how boring.. souless we are as a club...how the club cant connect.. how it doesnt excite.. (yes it was exciting at the footy on saturday)..but thats not the tone of the club..
I know youre probably a propaganda mouthpiece plant.. sorry if youre not!!!.. but you are in my opinion...
Do not mistake even a flag as to where this club is supposed to be in AFL standing.!!!
DO NOT paint a picture of things going well because we grabbed Buttifant..!!!..

AGAIN answer me this.. what inovation will Buttifant give the Carlton Footy club over everyone else???

You see padre.. were a Xerox.. our answer is to study Collingwood and become Collingwood...

Innovation!!!Show it to me!!!.. dont tell me copying should be plauded.. plagarism means you have no ideas of your own...!!!
I dont mind borrowing some stuff.. but we have gone the full hog!!!

Do not find this week or GF week to pop out your little head from under a rock and pretend all is good.. and "management " have this thing under control.. and doing great work.
Whatever is happening is happening in spite of Sticks and Co... not because Sticks and Swann have the answers.

2 weeks ago i didnt hear boo from you padre... not one iota of noise...!!!
I havent changed my message..

Do you believe this club needs an independent review from top to bottom???

I bet you wont answer this question....
I heard Cordy was the best condiotioning guru.. i heard Swann was the best CEO(Except Cook)...I heard Hyde was the best developent coach...i heard . blah blah

Do i really need to believe you and your mates because you tell me???

Who are you?
Brian???

Where is the review?

So Carlton can't hire anyone who has been at another club
because them leaving means they're no good otherwise the club wouldn't let them go.

On that basis everyone at the club should be a novice.
Let's see how that works.

And if you suggest the board may me making a good appointment, well you're a plant.

He and Geoff Walshe walked out in the club because nobody like Buckley.

Eddie has put his balls in the line backing Bucks..... If it all turns to shit, both Ed and Bucks will be sleeping together in the dog house.

of course u can hire your mates.... we do it all the time...

choo.. u dont think there is an unhealthy reliance on all things collingwood at our club???

no???? :screwy:

one thing is for sure.... the question for any reasonably inteligent person would be..... is there any kind of process apart from the ex collingwood old boys club process going on???

I can't keep up with the thoughts on this site.....one minute; we're too ''old school Carlton'' with Sticks and McKay and Gleeson et al.....now....it's too ex Collingwood.....isn't everyone in AFL from SOMEWHERE?...................

I think there should be a healthy reliance on hiring people we trust.
I don't think everthing coming from Collingwood is good NOR is it necessarily bad.
I trust MM to hire the right team for the Football department because he has has success at 4 clubs.

I am interested in the process but i am not privvy to ours.
This is a small industry (only 18 "companies") the talent pool is naturally shallow.
I believe administration is where you look to the outside world.
Having said that; i am comfortable with people such as Andy Mackay, who went and worked elsewhere in the industry before returning.
Having the best, who happens to be a Carlton man is a bonus.
