Freo also had 31 scoring shots to our paltry sum.

We were pantsed.

On Kreuzer... the one criticism I have of him at the moment is that most of the time he marks, he lets the opposition know that he's looking for a handball to a running team mate. He stands in a "slips catch" stance waiting, waiting, waiting for someone to accept. Sometimes he's that way for about 10 seconds until someone offers.

Just have to have a glance and if it ain't there, wheel around and deliver yourself big fella! Every second waiting is a second the opposition has to prepare for your obvious intent.

Good on you Murph for getting on the front foot. he wont have to wait long to deliver when Picken awaits this week I'd say.

See now that is good criticism!..........

Kreuzer has been unfairly crucified this year. I reckon he's been great. Not brilliant.... but very very good. In fact, he's the best ruckman we've had in probably 10years.

However, he can improve (much like everybody on this list) and that is one area that he can lift.

Agree with you 100%

The best thing about Kreuzer - he hasn't hit he's peak yet....... but it's coming!

I reckon Mitch Wallis will get the job.

Picken will play on Betts.

Puts pressure on himself. he will get more than usual this week. He had better walk the walk.

it's worse when you see RooTsy on OTC backing up your own punters thoughts that Yaz, should maybe be playing at half back, where he shone.

It's bad enough seeing Roosy OTC full stop. Take his word on Sydney but don't care for his comments outside of there. Not a commentating genius.
Yarran has been worked out down back. Drag him to FB & work him over for his deficiencies on the last line. He'd be better on a wing but hasn't got himself to AFL required fitness to handle that.
He should be a damn good HFF....

I understand and share your anger that for whatever reason, he does not push himself.
whether that can change, who knows?
I also agree about the wing position..or being fit enough to play well in the midfield also.
However, I think that Roosy is very astute, and you can't refute how well Yaz played down back under Ratts through many games.
Yes, other teams worked out how to deflect him, and took him back to the goal square.
Why can't MM, come up with a counter plan for that?
I have an awful feeling that MM is not bringing the best in some of our players.
In fact, they seem a bit deflated. perhaps this is a necessary phase though, as bad habits are broken? I hope so.

Teams have been trying to drag the best half backs to the square for years. Its the responsibility of the players and coaches to manipulate the structure to suit us, not the opposition. It's up to us who we play our defenders on, not the other way around.
That's the trouble with Carlton at the moment, we're so reactive that the opposing coaches are dictating the play.
Its why our uncontested numbers have gone through the floor which is killing us.

Synbad tells us the game has changed enormously in the past 2 years. He's spot on but it's our style of game which hasnt adapted to suit. Not the personnel.
