Port scored 9.6 to 0.3 today from turnovers. Need to match their intensity and then some...

If our weakness is belief, then that's not a bad point.

Hanneberry destroyed by Kornes, will need to learn to break a tag. White, Morton, Armstrong, Pyke are ordinary and Bolton looks to have gone 1 year too long.

Armfield to go to Malceski. Would like Cachia on Kennedy, for the bigger body and perhaps Curnow to get Jack. JPK is a beast, but has been done over in a couple of games when hard tagged. Once by T.Hunt, and another by McCaffer.

A great side, but even on the rebound a 6 day break should work in our advantage. Was a slogfest today.

I don't this we could have hoped for a better game, they were dead on their feet!

This is how I look at the Yarran situation.

He was made sub. For mine the sub is the bloke whose spot in the team is most in question. Maybe you could argue that there's other reasons such as match-ups etc, but you won't see any of your top performers being made sub. Whether or not his recent performances warranted this is another matter. This is how the selectors viewed his form and that's the assessment that counts.

He came on and didn't play well.

From what I saw of the Bullants last week he wasn't particularly impressive.

If he repeats the effort this weekend I don't see how you could justify bringing him in. Actually change that - I don't see how the selectors could justify bringing him back in.

Interesting to see that he had a match high 7 tackles. That's the kind of stat that I think coaches would value over possessions in a situation like this.

Nice one AK. That's the sort of thing you miss from intermittent viewing. Given he's not playing in the 2's it sounds like he's been told "all is forgiven".

As a general principal though, I like the idea of selectors being prepared to drop talented players who are not living up to their potential.

If we win, it'll be because the Swans' weakness has been exposed.
If we lose, it's because they were pissed off from losing to Port and took it out on us.

Either way, someone's theory will be right.

And if it's a draw?

We will be beaten to all parts of the SCG.

Regardless of what happened in the Sydney v Port game.

The mere thought of a win in this game is a delusional one.

I have pretty sharp elbows and excellent peripheral vision. I will not be beaten to the bar underneath the Victor Trumper Stand despite Swans supporters pre-match threatening to shake down the thunder from the sky. They don't scare me. Carlton (draught) by 7.

At the G would've been some chance, at the SCG no chance. Rebounding Swans by 24 after we lead by 3 goals twice.....

We'll lose to the Swans, then to Collingwood, and it will be season over.

na, Bizzare as it seems, we should still make the 8 providing we don't completely lose the plot after this string of losses. My Ladder predictor has us finishing 8th, a game and % clear of Port and a game behind Tiges. I've included wins of GC up there and Richmond though (both questionable) but have us losing every other hard game inc Bummers. I've also assumed that Tiges and Port maintain their good recent form - again questionable ?

also, an Elim final v Bummers looms....

Be nice to actually win a game against very good opposition for once.

Close losses don't cut it. Will cost us finals action this year if it hasn't already.

The fact is we can't win the close ones and haven't beaten the quality sides yet. Can't see that changing myself but hope I'm wrong.

We're very close to a big scalp, and this could well be it.

We won @ the SCG the last time we played there in 2011 for all the TC chicken littles (and I was there  ). We've also won away at Subi and Gabba this year. Reminder - Swans lost to Hawks @ SCG last year but won the GF. They are not impregnable up there.

Given Dan H was kept to 13 touches v Port, we'll need a Curnow or Cachia to step up again for this task, he is now the barometer for this team. Cachia's job on Jobe a few weeks ago gives me hope that he can keep big Josh K in reasonable check for this game. Doubt Carrots will play after missing 5 or 6 weeks.

At least no Murphy for us is likely to be offset by no Goodes for them.

Ins - McInnes, Yarran
Outs - Bootsma, Murphy (inj)

Blues by 11 points.

Your not the only one allowed to galavant to all parts of the world to have some fun - I have a leave pass so the SCG better watch out.
