Well deserved win in a rubbish game of football.
We were better bar the last 6 minutes. Got a bad run from the umps.

Good efforts from Hendo, Gibbs, Scotty, Murph, Kreuze, Eddie, Walker, Mitch, AJ

Jamo was much better. Judd stood up in the last couple of minutes.

Before the game I said I'd take a 1 point win and no injuries. Although we should have won by more, we got that.
A win (especially away) is a win.

Backline did well
we were lucky they can't shoot.
We let then out the back too often in stoppages in their forward line.
Our kicking into F50 was frustrating
But our shots on goal were great.
Just happy to get the points - a win in Perth is always a good, hard fought thing...

Won a game not played on our terms. Very happy.

Wouldn't be worried about the fade out. 5 changes, tough game, warm conditions, it's still April!

Loved Walks and Henderson's game. JR considering his rough patch was solid, Robinson and Simpson good 2nd halves.

Duigan a little fumbly early. Garlett just 'doing enough'. Need to work on kicking in the forward 50.

4-1 going into GWS is huge. 2 interstate trips down.

That sums it up beautifully. Your first line is the big plus.

We won against a team trying to do what we hate. Coaches made adjustments that allowed us to still engage in the contest even if we lose a lot of contested ball / clearances.

Ran out of legs in the last but that would be expected under the circumstances.

I thought w needed 3 last quarter goals to be safe, we only got 1.

I think it's a fantastic win, any traveling side would of been wrapped to come away with a win like that.

It rights a lot of the wrongs of last week

Did Mitch just say in the post match interview that we'd be getting 'an easy week' against GWS?

I think he said we'd have an easy week then play Gold Coast

I also thought he mentioned Gold Coast, the easy part i think was referring to training.

I may have overreacted in the match thread....though it does concern me how we fade out so often, it's an almost weekly occurrence......we need to play 4 quarter football consistently week in week out to reign supreme in the comp.

In the scheme of things, a win away in Perth against a Freo team on the rise, with 3 big injuries and walkers first game underdone, got to be happy with that.

rd 1 - 7.4 to 2.2
rd 2 - 7.6 to 2.2
rd 3 - 3.3 to 1.2
rd 4 - 6.1 to 3.2
and finally coming off a short break and a trip to perth and making 5 changes
rd 5 - 1.1 to 3.5

not sure of our "often" fade outs.
To me, we are one of the fittest sides in the comp

Don't get this not playing 4 quarters talk, we don't play a static opposition. They challenged, we were good enough to he firm.

They won't lose too many at home this year.

Was just going to post these sentiments. It seems people forget we play against other good teams!

To win over there in a tough Friday night match is a great effort. Very proud of the boys. Really sets us up.

A fantastic win, not only because it was in Perth; it was against Ross Lyon and his flood; and it was against those idiots like Ballantyne and "Man Overflow" Pearce  ......no, it was a fantastic win because we played against our better judgement. It looked to me we had prepared against the Lyon uber defensive style and played accordingly- the third quarter we opened up the gap but never allowed the Dockers enough momentum to challenge us until late in the last quarter. And we had enough composure to slow the game down. Yep, I'll take the win with a big smile on the dial- we're going to be 5-1 up after next week- who doesn't love that!!!!

Good to get the win and no injuries. Hate playing teams coached by Lyon.
We looked really tired, we did afterall have only a 6 day break and last week was also in warm conditions.
I thought Hendo did a great job as did Scotland. Judd lifted in the final quarter. Can enjoy the weekend now.

Listening to 6PR. They're not as feral as I was expecting. Carl Langford is actually being sensible. Thinks Lyon's game plan is OK but their forward setup isn't what they should have given their pace in the front half. They should open it up in the front half. Ross Lyon will never win a GF. He has got his teams to three but he is too defence-centric to actually take a game on from the first bounce.

Games like this show how important conversion is.

Fremantle had their chance to just about finish the game in the second quarter.

Thought AJ and Rusty made good comebacks. Rusty looked a bit shaky at first but will get a lot of confidence from that.

Doesn't always happen in the last....we switch off during games far too often....Richmond rd 1 let them back in, last week in the 2nd quarter, tonight in the last....happened many times last season. If we iron this out we will win a flag no doubt, but I'm not at all convinced our players have the mental strength required.

Simpson 83% DE from 35 disposals isn't too bad.
Scotto 93% from 30
Gibbs 92% from 25.

Megan's keeping up the Hammers motivation levels on the TV.

Six pack coming my way from Freo supporter yet again! WOOT!

Judd leads team in ......... Clangers?

His shoulders look more strapped than usual? Still troubled?

I thought he took steps forward but still made some frustrating errors. Failed to stick tackles and took his eyes off the ball on a couple of occasions. Mistakes a 5 year + player should'nt be making.

I thought Curnow was excellent when the game was up for grabs. Murphy continues to make great decisions and some of Kruezers handballs in traffic are sublime.
Good to see Lucas contribute well when he came on. Walker was the big bonus. He ball handling was exceptional.

Again we aren't playing a static opposition, other sides can okay well and have good patches in matches.

No side has ever gone every game against every side winning a the time with full four quarter domination in all matches they play.

We haven't been perfect and there is room to improve, but I think we have an excellent launching pad.
