I don't think anyone except lazy/inflammatory journalists is concerned by the results to date.

It's been very clear where the priorities this preseason lie, evidenced by Ratts' disapoointment with several of the kids last week. They've had chances to show something, and they've (largely) wasted those chances.

Now's the time to put the kids away and let the best 22 have some time to gel. Unless of course they've learned nothing new this summer to incorporate into a game plan.

Its not so much the mid field that is the problem. It is the continued reliance on Juddy. Even Malthouse has said colonwood was never a real contender for the flag due to its over reliance on Buckley in his later years. If Juddy was playing anywhere near his usual brilliance against WC would we have won. Of course.

And this general bombing to no one the forward line, what type of game plan is that. Could someone explain it please. If it is a one on one such as to Hammer you can understand but to no one in particular is just crazy. Been going on for years.

Ratts has said several times over the pre season how Geelong managed their players last year. And guess who won the flag? Any coincidence our senior players have had limited pre season playing time. I do not think so. Wait until the real season starts before the criticism.

No, you will get a weathered plastic chair in the Legends Stand, and you will like it.

Who's volunteering to provide live commentary via the gameday thread?

Surely the club can plug in their equipment into the network in the offices and go for round 2 of CFCTV live?

I'm sure we could get a few players providing commentary.

To quote your caption thing ... NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!
This game's worth nothing. Practise a bit of positional work then put the cue in the rack for Rnd 1.

we want to be top 4 right ?
that means about 15 or 16 wins ?
we can't afford to go into the new season cold - we need to hit the ground running - we need to be a warmed up smoothe running machine from the get go
we're supposed to have some depth now - no time to pussy foot around - now is the time !

Nah ... just going to have to disagree on this one Rexy. They're not going to be cold - they're full time professional footballers.
They're human beings as well though and no one can stay at peak insensity indefinitely. I reckon we should be able to roll Richmond
and Brisbane without treating them like "be all end all" games. Then really go for Collingwood. That, IMO, is the one that really matters.

 Too highbrow.

I'm going with the splinters...and the beer soaked commentary from the outer. I live for that.

Wow.. I had no idea they gave out extra points for beating prior year grand finalists.

They're all worth four points. So they're all as important as each other.

And regardless of being professional or not... weird things happen a the start of EVERY season. I can guarantee you that come round 16 this year, everyone will look back at a couple of early resuslts and say... how the *** did that happen.

with jamison looking very unlikely to play round one, i would like too see watson play against north, and put it him,
watto this is your chance, ok ratts, thanks, and i shall take it with both hands,
so for the game, i would like too see,
duigan watson touhy
yarran henderson scotland
lucas gibbs simpson
robinson waite gartlett
betts rowe walker
kreuzer judd murphy
i/c; hampson carrazzo curnow russell thornton

i think lucas, touhy and curnow deserve there chance.
i hope rowe and watson can produce some good footy.
with henderson likely to take jack, we need someone to take vickery, i hope thats watson.

@Carlton_FC 's Andrew Walker will miss NAB4. Still suffering some quad soreness in kicking leg but club still confident he'll play Round 1.

quad soreness or did he re-aggravate it ?

'confident' he'll play Rnd 1 ?

it's a concern

Seriously?? You hate Bower that much?
I can't believe that..I mean the kid Watson will be fab...most likely in time..so no disrespect at all...but geez..I think Paul will be ok..maybe even very good with some game time. Surely he's in the mix til Laids and Jammo come back?
