Whats the go with Watson? is he a chance to get some more game time in the 1s? I think we need to build the defence a bit more, granted the core of our defence was out yesterday I think watson will be a key in the future!

I doubt you will see him in the ones this year. The club are easing him into it. He still gets a weeks rest every 3 similar to McCarthy. He has a lot to learn.

In particular about giving and receiving body contact.

Sounds like he needs a 3 month stint in Barwon prison.

Jamo out for 4 weeks....buugger

Quote:
Carlton defender Michael Jamison underwent scans today after suffering a knock to his left knee in Sunday’s Round 14 clash against West Coast. Results show he has a slight tear to his meniscus and he will undergo surgery tomorrow. He is expected to miss around 4 weeks.

Richmond are $18 for over 39.5 this week.

I'm interested, I have to admit. $3.75 head to head has merit too.

Thornton will be the big loser. He will go to full back and Henda to CHB. If we can flank them with good players we may get away with not having Jamo around.

Through all this Henda might just reveal himself as a quality defender.

I am looking forward to the rest of the season.

If we miss top4 it isnt the end of the world. We have the late bye and you would think clear in the eight. We could do a mini pre season around the Freo / Hawks game and hit the finals fresh and fit. Brush up on skills against the then tanking Saints. From there we win 4 straight in the finals and celebrate long into Grandfinal night.

Not so worried. Leading into the finals we find out over the next 4-6 weeks who our CHB will be, the player who will stand up against Cloke/Dawes, Kennedy/Lynch/Darling come September. Will it be Austin, Bower, T-Bird, White, Watson, Henderson or even Carlos? Could be a blessing!

Tigers? Well we beat them undermanned in Round 1, what's changed? We're a better side since Round 1, Richmond are still driven by Martin, Deledio and Cotchin, Reiwoldt is carrying an injury and Vickery gets a couple each round. Hard tags on Cotchin and Deledio and Duigan on Martin when he ventures forward.

In: Robbo, Waite, Carlos, Curnow (If Fit), Duigan (If Fit)
Out: Armfield, Jamison, Warnock, O'Keefe (If Curnow is fit). Houlihan (If Duigan is fit)

FB: Yarran, T-Bird, Duigan
HB: Gibbs, Austin, Russell
C: Scotland, Ellard, Simpson
HF: Judd, Waite, Garlett
FF: Betts, Henderson, Walker

RCK: Kreuzer, Robbo, Murphy

INT: RoK, Carlos, Carrazzo

SUB: Tuohy

I'd be tempted to bring in White to play on Reiwoldt
defintely dont want Thornton going near him
and reckon he may be a better suit than Bower

Carlos if fit should be in too, his form pre-injury was good

got a feeling they'll give mclean another chance this week
will someone please convince me Austin and O'Keefe are good?
it's just that from the 5 or 6 games ive seen of O'Keefe I haven't seen much at all, sure he kicks well.
and Austin seems to have had a lot of chances and cant recall him doing much ever, is he worthy?

If Duigan is ready he will replace Aussie.
Houlihan could stay in ahead of Curnow or even Ellard

Nah Psycho, Waite will stay fwd and Hendo to go back. Hendo has hardly touched it when fwd past few weeks! Duigan or Bower to replace Aussie.

After watching White on Jack Rd 1, could T-Bird possibly do any worse? T-Bird has experience on the likes of Brown, Lloyd, Richo etc, he'll do me. Not ideal, but the best option we'll have for this week. Hendo on Vickery @ CHB a good match up for us, too.

duigan wont be ready according to him

setanta has hand injury so if thats ok he should play, doesnt matter about his form, he will hit packs hard, contest in the ruck and bring ball to ground , much better than warnock has to to offer at the moment

Agree re Carlos, he was very good when thrown in v Swannies @ SCG off a limited preparation, let's do the same this week. He told a coterie group last week that he would be ready this week.

why not play watson?
i believe ''SOME'' game time is a good thing for him.
jamison goes down, what happens if thornton goes down also? do we just throw him to the wolves again????
white and austin???? not sure.
tigers, bulldogs, Essendon* and north, would be a good chance for him to play on the second or third tall.
we need henderson and waite up forward, as shown on the weekend.
lucas should get a chance also.
just my thoughts.

My old man was in a pessimistic mood like a lot on here, writing off our top four chances after our third loss of the year. He was looking over the fixtures for the Coasters and the Hawks, basically saying they'll win 7-8 each and we'll get stuck in Perth in week two of the finals ... if we even make it that far.

So - a little perspective.
The top four over the past four years have looked like this in terms of points:
2010 - 70, 68, 62, 56
2009 - 80, 72, 60, 60
2008 - 84, 68, 62, 52
2007 - 72, 60, 60, 56

Moral of the story is - with 9.5 wins already on the board and 9 games to go - we need 5 wins to push past the 14 wins barrier and, if recent history is worth anything at all, we'll finish top four. We need 5 out of 9. It's not a huge ask.

Plus, we have five games against bottom eight teams to go - Tigers, Dogs, Bombers (feels good!), Roos and Saints. Plus winnable games against the Hawks and the Dees. So whilst injuries and fatigue are a bit of a concern, it's still so much ours to lose. In fact, if we drop any of those games, it will be well and truly our fault.

Just trying to make those glasses look half-full, after a rough 24 hrs.
A win against the Tigers this week and we'll be back in the groove!

Always like listening to hear what Craig Bradley had to say.

Well said CB and welcome aboard to TC
