Thanks for the Hammer reports.

We must be near on unbackable favorites for the flag if Keogh can't find anything negative to say.

I haven't seen the game yet but I see Hammo had 36 hit outs. How did he actually go?

He was really good. Clunked his marks, worked really hard, will keep his spot next week considering that Warnock didn't play.

And the ironic thing is we actually lost that match, if I remember correctly. Late 2002, we played them at Princes Park and went down by 9 points.

Hope Jamo comes up next week as he is probably the one guy in the team who is irreplaceable at the moment.

Can't see Thornton or Bower being big enough or strong enough to match up with Brown next week, although that said, I think Thornton has been very good the last few weeks and fully deserves to be in the side.

Best option if Jamo does miss may well be Setanta.

This years Blues protect the defense a lot more than years past. Strangle them in our half and at stoppages and we should be able to handle Brown.

Blues by 72.

Need to work on our scoring efficiency. Stating the obvious I know but we have control of games a lot more than the scoreboard shows.

Its something the Maggies have on us and we are going to have to match them or better them at this to win a flag soonish.

Heard a stat at half time that we had 28 clangers in our forward 50.

I don't usually put much stock in stats, but that doesn't sound great.

Probably explains why we lost by ten goals though.

Probably explains why we weren't 10 goals up at half-time.

Watch for the news articles focusing on the brions, voss and their lack of heart. All timed to coincide with their game against...

Hammer was much improved, and was holding his marks which was amazing.

I think the past 2 weeks have done him a world of good for his development, however I'm not getting too carried away as I don't think he's had much opposition. (Martin last week was awful, and Brogan this week was on one leg).
I know people are hard on Warnock, but I think he still competes better than Hampson against the top opposition.

Having said that, Hammer deserves to keep his spot based on today.

Curnow looked underdone, not sure whether he was a better option than Brock. Worked his way into it later on when it was junk time.

Setanta was just all over the shop, and may need a rest to regain his composure. Hope Henderson is ready to fire.

Waite was definitely injured. There was one shot for goal where he had been limping around trying to walk off the injury for a minute or so, and then someone spotted him up for a mark.
He definitely did not want to be kicking it.
Just had a bad day.

Not sure why we were so bad in the first half and then so good in the second half, but I'm very glad we got out of that.
I agree with the commentators that Port looked sapped after half-time probably due to backing up from Darwin.
They just stopped completely at about halfway into the third quarter.

Very happy with the result. Went there for the 4 points and will return home with them.

As a keen Bullants watchers I was pretty disappointed they made Touhy the sub though. Should have given the kid a full game to let him settle into the pace of the game. With guys pushing for selection next week it makes it hard to keep him in the side after just over a quarter of footy this week. Hope I'm wrong though.

Weird game.

Some really horrible stuff in the first half, very selfish play and we didn't seem to respect the opposition. A few players looked completely out of sorts. Curnow probably should have played VFL and Russell did not look 100%. When Waite has a bad game he really has a bad game.

Can't complain too much about a 10 goal win though I guess.

Good to see my boy Yazz play well and snag a couple.

Not suprised completely with Hammer putting in a big one considering Kruez and Worny are ready to slot straight back in.....

Go Tex in the wet!!

Our lowest score of the season, 74, is the 'best' lowest score of any team, how's that for a useless stat. It's actually not bad considering how dysfunctional our forward line has been

Yes.

The great Craig Bradley finished up.

In a most astonishing stat:

Sam Cranage, 1 vote.

Watched it until 3 quarter time where I had to go out for dinner. But from what I saw in those 3 quarters, it was very obvious that week in week out the opposition finds it very, very easy to rebound it from our defensive 50 and run it through the middle for a goal.

Is it a case of our midfield not coming back to defend?
Our team committing too much into attack and not being accountable for the turnover in case?

Any ideas?

Against a decent team we would have been 6 goals down at half time and up against it.

Luckily PA squandered their chances and we ran away with it in the second half.

It was a ten goal win but it wasn't a ten goal win.
