There are many many managers of people who are able to achieve much without being intimidating figures.

And you know this how.....?

The Ratts we see in public could be very different and far more direct and demanding in private.

I'm pretty sure Ratts can't be blamed for this:

Although I wouldn't put it past some people here.

On Sunday - post the draw - Ratts was asked who he looked to for his toughest and most relevant feedback.

He answered it came from the players. As part of the Leading Teams approach, he often received feedback.

Only least week, he received feedback from the midfield group and it was delivered by Murphy and Gibbs. Didnt go into the detail and nor should he. However, gave the impression that it was frank to the point and very constructive.

Those closest to the action will resolve the issue.

How dare you be so sensible, London?

sensibility - in my nature or perhaps it's about relativity!

Anyway, I am sure the our TC blurb would be water of a duck's back versus the realism that would come from those that matter most to him.

Agree will you completely on this matter KK.

Coach of Carlton:

Malthouse: A discusting thought.

Roos: Yes ... but will not happen.

Ratten: Improving coach who has taken Carlton from a lowly position on the ladder to the finals in the last 2 years.

Pretty clear cut in my mind.

It thought so too, so I thought I'd find a heap of things that he didn't cause. Started to worry when zoomed in on the picture there and you can see something like a tiny Ratten trashing stock.

Then on the internet bible, Wikipedia, I discovered that 'ratts' were responsible for the Black Plague.

Furthmore, the Navy used to be plagued by 'Ratts' on most of their ships.

Discovered that being struck by Ratten is a punishmnet in Singapore and he was so apparently disliked in some areas that they named a style of furniture after him.

Also heard he was the one who devised the path for the SS Titanic and was causing problems trying to date 'above his station'. But when HS Carlton Story Translator got hold of the story, it caused them to cast Hird in the main role for the movie. Naturally he was sanctified!

But perhaps, most damning of all in this indepth investigation was the discovery of in Chinese lore that the Ratt became one of the Chinese horoscope animals but being cunning and jumping on the back of an ox and using the Ox as his way to win the race.

I hope this is allegorical as i shudder to think of David Schwarz being at Carlton!

Why is Malthouse coaching the Blues a disgusting thought?

If we were in the game for another coach, I would suggest Malthouse to be number one. Who else do you want? John Worsfold?

Ratts is too much of a nice guy and soft for a coach...

We need someone with pure guts, grit and balls... (so to speak)

He is gone - irrespective of what carlton do this yr.. and the aim is for Roos or Malthouse.. (ok this wouldnt be the first time these two names have been thrown about)..

But Carlton played a crap load better against the filth even in defeat ..

However against Essenscum...the anticipation and excitement of a dismal carlton unit screwing up just took it out of me!!

If this is what this year entails for us.. talk about taking the stress levels to a whole new bloomin level....i think id rather be at work...

I don't think he can be blamed for our server going down today and losing 3 weeks of work.

Or for the fact that I have a payroll waiting to be authorised but so far the 2 signatories I need are AWOL.

Not happy Jan, I might have to demand to sakc Ratts if this isn't resolved.

No backup newer than 3 weeks old???

I'd be looking for a new job if that happened on my watch

Well according to Robbo tonight on AFL 360 the Blues coach on the day was Malthouse!

See, again according to Robbo, Fletcher was given the coaches votes by Malthouse  and Hird.

So you're saying you never saw Ratts play.

Wow, that would have to be a new record for stupidest statement of the year.

BlueGirl wrote:

Oops, looks like I spoke too soon.

How many times do some people have to be told Roos isn't interested in coaching any more?

So you're really saying Ratts is going to be sacked because you're a pea-hearted supporter who can't stand the excitement of close matches where the team doesn't do exactly what you want them to?
