It's nothing personal - just business...just an opinion...while he's in Navy Blue i'll support him to the hilt, but we'd seemingly have leverage in this trade. I think Adelaide would want a bona fide midfielder though. That might happen this year, and it's one of the things i'll be looking out for in 2010...just how much time will Bryce Gibbs get being rotated through the midfield? I can't see it happening too much...might be a new thread title - 'Where would you play Bryce Gibbs'?

Should be a pretty tight young group of mates by now so I'd be surprised if any of the young stars wanted out.

Nah I'm just joking, I don't think he'll leave us although his girlfriend has now moved down here so I dare say whether she likes Melbourne or not may be the clincher in the whole deal. Or maybe Bryce loves Carlton and he's never going anywhere. Problem being he's never really come out and declared his allegiance to the Navy Blues. Until he does.........

Just wondering if it was a typing error (the f and r keys are close) or that you think Gibbs has really put on a lot of RIBBS?

He and his Dad have both said he'll be a one club player

Well in that case I reckon Bryce will stay because he strikes me as the sincere type.

He'll stay when we get him a good ruck.

..across the HFF, and as a lead-up target pushing into the midfield after stoppages.. ..give him a more attacking role..

Gibbs will stay at Carlton.

He will be one of the best in the next Carlton premiership team.

There is also some kind of medal or award that he will win in the next few years.

Ablett not available for GC17? Sheeds on the lookout?
We have to assume at some stage Gibbs will be looked at by the boys with the open chequebook. Loyalty is a wonderful thing but an athlete gets to work at his peak for about ten years. In that time he has to make enough to support himself and his family for the rest of his life. We have to offer people like Gibbs a combination of big bucks, a great environnment and the promise of success. If any of those is missing, the dollars may win out. IMO, we are safe ATM because the kids will be looking for #17.

I said it a few years ago when we had all those #1 picks on the trot. There will come a time when we can't afford to pay them what they're worth so I hope we get the best from them before the salary cap forces us to break the group up.

I'm not too fussed. I think he'll stay with us until he wins a flag, at which stage he will likely do a Chris Judd. In all honesty, if he helps us win a flag I'll happily pack his bags for him and wish him all the best in Adelaide. He's my favourite player (although Krooz is getting close!), but I'm just realistic that I reckon he'll go.
