When we hold the ball up, isn't that to swing the momentum our way and lock the game down?

Yes it is DUC.

We don't do that very often anymore, but the otehr thing is you need to win the ball in the back for it to work. We werent even doing that Saturday night.

Lets face it, he was right about us on Saturday.

It wasn't just Saturday, it was the same in the melbourne game, but the difference there was that Melbourne was too shiteful to do anything about it.

Judd was horrid that day, no intensity and no defensive pressure. Opposition players just streamed past him. I was very disappointed in his game that day.

We are capable of going both ways.... its just a state of mind. Its something we HAVE to rectify if we want more than a weeks worth of finals.

The (justified) hatred of Wallace has blinded some of you to the truth of his words.

But did you really expect that much intensity Chucky against the Dees who everyone knows weren't looking for a win?

Why exert yourself in Rd 21 when you know you will be playing longer than 22 weeks? Judd busts a gut when he needs to and when he has reasonable support.

I sometimes think that because of the level he is at, the expectation is unrealistic that he performs every week.

Anyone who goes to games and watches the players across the entire field will know Terry is correct in what he says.

We have players who run forward too enthusiastically at all stages of the game.

This has nothing to do with making up scoring deficits in a game, it's all about mental application when the other team has the pill and has the potential to hurt us.

It's also the same reason why in most of the games where we've copped a pasting, it's done by teams who run hard through the middle (ie Essendon* and Adelaide x2). Our mids are not mentally equipped at this stage to exert themselves both ways.

It's the next stage of our development as a team.

Thats a fair comment DUC, why over exert yourself unless you have to do it... Judd must be so damn tired at this stage, seeing he has carrried so much of the load for three quarters of the season. Yeah the last few games he has been uncharacteristically off, but hell he's not superman FFS. Give the guy a break!

Hi Gang,

Long time viewer; first time poster - be nice

I often go to the games with my 11 year old son and often he asks me "Dad, why does Juddy refuse to man up?" It's something that I have noticed over the past couple of seasons and YES he is an absolute champion and I love him like every other Carlton supporter but unfortunately the suntanned car salesman is on the money. It's very confusing for an 11 year old to hear from others that Juddy doesn't have to man up because he is a champion when we as coaches & parents at junior footy consistantly tell them to man up - I know it's only junior footy, etc, etc but you get my point.

Watching how hard Dane Swan ran & ran & ran on that disastrous friday night was amazing! Our boys are very young and still learning and will improve - No doubt about that!

PS - Those Maggotts are full of DHS - Davis, Thomas, Didak (none Better)

It's dangerous to decide when you want to play 100%. To be choosy about when to chase and when not to.

Why haven't Brereton, Wallace and the rest of the Essendon* loving media applied the same torch to the one way Bombers before their final?

Some would call it strategic planning buzz.

Key word: Experience.

Again agree, but I want to see us eradicate these issues inside of 2 years; not 4 like the Saints, who have grabbed injury prone former stars left, right and centre to prop their premiership window back open.

Yep, fair point.
