I've had little doubt on Hampson from the start and none on Kreuzer.

The prospect of both of those super tall, agile and skilled big guys running around for another 10 years...

We haven't yet seen exactly how good Warnock might become but if he ends up holding down the No 1 ruck spot with Hammer playing as a super tall ruck rover and Kreuzer at CHF no team in my memory will have that sort of talls advantage.

Oh...and they can rotate a bit if they get bored dominating in any one role...

that is the gold and the end of the rainbow. the potential for them and our side as a whole is staggering!!

Actually I was a striker, a bit of a Peter Crouch type. But strangely I was much better with my feet than my head. In 10 years of soccer I think I only scored 2 goals from my head, which is unusual for a guy my height!

In fact he likes to move the play forward, moves towards the goal - like a true striker

I am serious, and stop calling me Shirley...

Well there you go, I remember an article or a Sheehan comment that said he was a winger... hmm.

Its junior soccer. I'd expect any kid that isn't a defender to be running from one sidelinie to the next.

Settle for an old skool WM or 4-2-4?

That's cos his team-mates couldn't pass the ball that high....

I thought it was Ratten's fault.

I was thinking a defensive 4-3-3. :P

Just needed to mark the Judd kick from the centre clearance in the last 1/4, had Milburn all but beaten!

So he was EXACTLY like Peter Crouch. Good with the feet, absolutely no idea with the head.

Warnock missing most of the year has been the ol' blessing in disguise.

I think if Warnock had been healthy, quite simply you could switch this thread with the Warnock thread, which would be "The Warlock" and this one would be "Hampson Progress".
I think it would be like in previous years where we would only see glimpses of his talent and athleticism then he gets dropped and we don't see what he's got until the following year. It's probably undermining his natural progression, but that's sort of how I perceived his situation to be. His fantastic leap is winning him hitouts, his speed allows him to pressure opposition effectively and his endurance makes his opponents work harder. For a gifted athlete like he is he needed to know if his attributes could be affective in an AFL game or whether his lack of polish will send him back down. With an extended period of games he now has more answers than he does questions concerning the early part of his career. I think that would also apply to us supporters and everyone else too.

With how much Carlton invested in Warnock, you would think he's a pretty decent player so his time will come, that's inevitable.
There are two completely different scenarios that could have eventuated in this Hammer-sphere had Warnock's time came much earlier and he only missed the initial projection of 2-3 weeks.
It's the Sliding Door effect, except in this sliding door Hammer is the redhead Gweneth Paltrow where the best possible outcome occurs and everything is positive.

..yeah his speed and endurance are awesome for such a big hunk of muscle, vs cats he was running their rucks all over the place, i reckon him and Krooz will be using the same tactics quite often, running to space and pushing fwd to be a threat, with their superior pace and endurance they can dictate play..

We really missed the Hammer against Port.
The stats speak for themselves.

Hammer in Cloke out.

Warnock and Hammer in and Kreuzer forward is what I'd really like.

Ditto - could be the "X" factor that takes us DEEEEP into September.

My only concern is that Warnock doesnt have the 'ks' in the tank.

Under normal circumstances it would be a great opportunity to play Warnock this week with a 50/50 rotation off the bench with Hampson (Kreuzer in the forward line) - however Warnock may get more benefit playing 80% game time with Bullants this week.

Third best for the Ants, he'd be close...A easy game v Melbourne, then Adelaide's rucks are good but young....perfect build up.
