The problem before was not that there were not enough rules.... its probably that there were too many vague ones that could be manipulated by "precious" people.

1. General posting guidelines
The use of excessive swearing, homophobic, racial and slanderous statements will not be tolerated. The Admin and Moderators reserve the right to edit any post they deem offensive. In extreme cases this may lead to an immediate ban. In less extreme cases you will be given an official warning. Repeat offences after an official warning may lead to your immediate banning, at the discretion of any one of the Admin or Moderators.
1(a). Abuse of another poster is also not tolerated. Please construct all your debates and arguments without resorting to the above. If you are not able to abide by this, you will be given an official warning. Maybe vague, but I think by not being too specific about abuse, we make it harder for people to manipulate the system.
The moderators are all very different people too, with differing viewpoints, and quite often what one has deemed to be abusing the guidelines, the majority vote has carried and no warnings are issued.
Our aim is not to be heavy-handed, but to provide a site that people enjoy coming to, whether that be for a laugh or for an argument.
We won't always get it right, that's a given. But I think overall it has worked so far.
We all seem to enjoy spending far too much time here, that's for sure!
